Setting a Transparent Color in a Photograph• Display Slide 3 and then select the power lines photograph• Click the Recolor button in the Adjust group on the Format
tab to display the Recolor gallery• Click Set Transparent Color in the Recolor gallery to display
a pen mouse pointer in the document window• Position the pen mouse pointer in the black area at the
bottom of the photograph where you want to make the color transparent
• Click the black area to delete the black lines from the photograph and allow the Trek background to show through the photograph

Resizing a Picture• With the power lines photograph selected and the
Format tab displayed, click and hold down the mouse button on the Shape Height box up arrow in the Size group until 6" is displayed
• Drag the photograph to the location• Display Slide 1 and then select the electric meter
photograph• Click the Format tab displayed, click and hold down
the mouse button on the Shape Height box up arrow in the Size group until 4 “ is displayed

Applying a Shape to a Picture• With the electric meter photograph selected on Slide 1 and
the Format tab displayed, click the Picture Shape button in the Picture Styles group to display the Picture Shape gallery
• Click the Sun shape in the Basic Shapes area (row 3, column 8) to apply this shape to the electric meter photograph
• Display Slide 3 and then select the power lines photograph• Click the Picture Shape button in the Picture Styles group to
display the Picture Shape gallery• Click the Curved Right Arrow shape in the Block Arrows area

Changing a Bullet Character to a Picture• If the Folders list is displayed below the Folders button, click the
Folders button to collapse the Folders list• Click the Previous Locations arrow on the Address bar and then
click Computer in the Favorite Links section. Double-click UDISK 2.0 (E:) to select the USB flash drive, Drive E in this case, as the device that contains the picture
• If necessary, scroll down and then click White Light Bulb to select the file
• Click the Add button in the Add Clips to Organizer dialog box to import the clip to the Microsoft Clip Organizer
• Click the OK button in the Picture Bullet dialog box to insert the White Light Bulb picture as the first paragraph bullet character

Changing a Second Bullet Character to a Picture• Click the second first-level paragraph, which begins with the
words Energy Star, click the Bullets arrow in the Paragraph group to display the Bullets gallery, and then click Bullets and Numbering to display the Bullets and Numbering dialog box.
• Click the Picture button in the Bullets and Numbering dialog box and then click the Import button in the Picture Bullet dialog box.
• Click Orange Light Bulb to select the file name and then click the Add button in the Add Clips to Organizer dialog box to import the clip to the Microsoft Clip Organizer.

the computer’s USB ports, click the Insert Media Clip button in the content placeholder to display the Insert Movie dialog box
• If the Folders list is displayed below the Folders button, click the Folders button to collapse the Folders list

Adding a Movie File• When the Microsoft Office PowerPoint dialog box is
displayed, click the Automatically button to specify the clip will begin playing when Slide 3 is displayed during a slide show
• With the Options tab displayed, click and hold down the mouse button on the Shape Height box down arrow in the Size group until 4“ is displayed
• Click the Send to Back button in the Arrange group to move the movie clip under the power lines photograph.

Adding a Sound Clip• Display Slide 1 and then click Insert on the Ribbon to display the Insert
tab• Click the Sound from File button, which is labeled Sound, in the Media
Clips group to display the Insert Sound dialog box• With your USB flash drive as the active drive, click Hard Rock Beat to
select the file• Click the OK button in the Insert Sound dialog box to insert the sound
clip into Slide 1• When the Microsoft Office PowerPoint dialog box is displayed, click
the Automatically button to specify the clip will begin playing when Slide 1 is displayed at the start of the slide show

• Click the Insert button in the Insert Picture dialog box to insert the light bulb movie clip into Slide 2
• With the Format tab displayed, click and hold down the mouse button on the Shape Height box up arrow in the Size group until 2.5" is displayed

Adding Notes• Click the Normal button to display Slide 4 in Normal view.• Click the Notes pane and then type Energy Star equipment and appliances provide dramatic reductions on electric usage. In general, Energy Star products use less than one-half the electricity that standard products use.
• Display Slide 2, click the Notes pane, and then type C FLs now have brightness and color rendition comparable to incandescent lights. Because of the electrical savings, they pay for themselves during their lifetime of use.

Changing Document Properties and Saving the Presentation• Click the Office Button, point to Prepare, and then
click Properties on the ‘Prepare the document for distribution’ submenu.
• Type your name as the Author property and your course and section as the Subject properties
• Type energy, lighting, energy star as the Keywords property
• Close the Document Information Panel• Click the Save button to overwrite the previous Energy
