Dear all Scandinavian and worldwide ICCA Friends, Welcome to Bergen – The Fjord capital of the World! These days you will find an exciting academic program which will focus on legacy, international relations, possible impact on Brexit, cultural differences and knowledge sharing. The whole academic program will give you some new ideas and new knowledge to take back home. “If you stand still, you`ll get shot”

Anders Nyland is CEO of Bergen Tourist Board and Director of Tourism at VisitBergen. He also serves at the Board of Directors at Fjord Norway – the regional destination company in Western Norway. Mr. Nyland works with destination development strategies, destination marketing and management, product development and public affairs. Before entering the travel industry, Mr. Nyland worked as Senior Advisor and Senior Client Director at Geelmuyden Kiese in Norway. He worked with digital content development,

content marketing and content strategies for his clients. Nyland also worked with communication strategies and media/PR advice, and he was trusted advisor to executives and board members concerning change management. Anders Nyland has been a journalist, editor and media executive for 16 years. He was Editor in Chief of Bergensavisen (The Bergen City Tabloid) for seven years, where he was responsible for the digital transformation of the newspaper, from being a traditional single sales copy tabloid, to being an online news provider with a subscription model. Nyland started his media career as a reporter in Østlandets Blad in 2000, where he later became Head of News department and then responsible for the papers online edition. He was publisher of Akershus Amtstidende from 2006 to 2009, and Editor in Chief of Bergensavisen from 2009 to 2016, when he went to Geelmuyden Kiese where he worked for two years.

MICHAEL BOOTH is the award-winning, best-selling author of six books of non-fiction. His work has been translated into over 20 languages, selected as Book of the Week by BBC Radio, and featured in Amazon’s overall Top Ten best-sellers on three continents (Europe, North America and Asia). Michael has been the Denmark correspondent for Monocle magazine and M24 Radio since 2007, and contributes to numerous newspapers and magazines around the world including The Guardian, The Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, Berlingske Tidende, Politikken, Svenske Dagladet and Afton Posten.

“Possible consequences on Brexit”

MALGORZATA CYNDECKA is a Postdoctoral research fellow at the Law Faculty at University of Bergen (UIB). She works primarily with EU/EEA State aid law, which is a part on Competition law, but also general EU/EEA law, including issues related to GDPR. She is a co-leader of Research Group for Competition and Market Law, and a member of Bergen Center for Competition Law and Economics and Centre for Climate Transition at UiB. She was a member of the Norwegian Government’s

Working Group “On a level playing field” and is regular speaker at conferences and seminars.

“Keep your international relations happy”

HANS WILHELM STEINFELD offers lectures and talks on international conflicts, and he takes assignments as discussion leader and moderator. He also offers strategic assistance to companies and organizations with operations in Russia, throughout the former Soviet Union countries and the new EU member states from the old Eastern Europe. Steinfeld previously held the position as Moscow correspondent for the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK), where he worked for 37 years. He was NRK's correspondent in Moscow for 18 years, and he was previously NRK's correspondent in the Balkans, based in Budapest and Belgrade. Steinfeld is a Master of Soviet Russian and economic history (Cand.philol) from the

University of Bergen, and he studied in Warsaw, Sarajevo and in Moscow in 1975. He has for several years taught at the Norwegian School of Economics Executive Master courses in international leadership. Hans-Wilhelm Steinfeld has written 12 books, and he is awarded The Cappelen Prize, Peer Gynt Prize, Narvesen Prize, The Scandinavian Journalist Award and he is the holder of the Lithuania Medal of Freedom.

“Shared economy as an asset”

Before joining Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) in 2013, Dr. TOR WALLIN ANDREASSEN was a professor of marketing, Department chair, and Associate Dean at BI Norwegian Business School. At NHH he is Professor of Innovation and the Director of Center for Service Innovation (CSI). Dr. Andreassen holds a Sivilokonom degree from NHH, MSc in marketing (with honors) from BI Norwegian Business School, and a Doctor of

Economics from Stockholm University, School of Business. Professor Andreassen is a member of the editorial review board of MIT Sloan Management Review, Journal of Service Research, Journal of Business Research, Service Science, and Journal of Service Management. Dr. Andreassen has published in leading journals such as: MIT Sloan Management Review, Marketing Science, and Journal of Marketing, Journal of Service Research in addition to eight books.

“Legacy of meetings workshop”

Based in Stockholm, JANE CUNNINGHAM joined GainingEdge December 2009 and has been doing Business Development for BestCities Global Alliance since then. Before joining GainingEdge Jane was the Sales Director for Congrex UK, an international professional conference organisation. Prior to that, she spent five years at the EICC (Edinburgh International Conference Centre) in Association Sales. Before returning to Scotland Jane worked in Dubai for Le Meridien Hotel as a Sales Manager. Jane studied French, Italian and Tourism and after college

she spent a number of years overseas working in the hospitality and tourism industry. She was an active member of ICCA and was on the ICCA UK & Ireland committee. Jane has a passion for networking and connecting people, not to mention promoting the impact that conferences have on a destination and how collaboration can result in positive outcomes globally.

“Revenue management: A friend or a foe?”

HANNE FØLGESVOLD MOLVIK – Revenue Manager West Hanne Følgesvold Molvik started in the hotel industry in 2006. First as a Receptionist, then Booking Manager, before starting as Revenue Manager for Radisson Blu in Oslo in 2011. Moved to Bergen in 2012 and has been working in Scandic since then. Is now Area Revenue Manager with responsibility for all Scandic hotels in Western Norway.

She will help us understand how Revenue Management works!
