WHY AM I RECEIVING THIS INFORMATION?

You are receiving this information because your property is near the site of an upcoming Power Transformer Replacement project and we want to keep you informed.

The City of Red Deer’s Electric Light & Power department is coordinating the “like-for-like” replacement of the power transformer (labelled 15T1) located near the corner of Taylor Drive and 54 Avenue. The existing transformer has reached the end of its planned life cycle and will be replaced with a newer transformer that has the same ratings and function as the existing model.

Construction is anticipated to start in June, although you may see some activity on site in May while survey work is completed. During construction, electricity will be re-routed from other transformers in the city, so we do not anticipate any electrical service interruptions. You may anticipate a normal level of construction noise during daytime hours.

PROJECT DETAILS

The following project details are provided for your information in accordance to guidelines from the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC).

The existing power transformer 15T1, has reached the end of its planned life cycle and will be replaced with a newer transformer of the same rating and function.

This project fits with the replacement plans to mitigate constraints identified in the Transmission Master Plan, which can be found on the City of Red Deer website at www.reddeer.ca/Construction.
