Weidmüller’s connectPower series of switched-mode power
supplies are used in industry, building automation and in marine
engineering. As well as the availability of a wide variety of designs
and features, the single-phase devices are rated from
12 to 500 W. Further advantages of these products are:
· wide voltage range input from 85 to 264 V AC
· radio interference suppression to
DIN EN 55022 Class B
· short-circuit and overload control on the
output side
· connect in parallel for increased performance
· power factor correction
· option for generating safety extra-low voltage

WAVEGUARD – Weidmüller’s fusing concept
The problem: Due to their technical characteristics, switched-
mode power supplies provide no, or just a very limited, dynamic
output current. When an overload condition occurs, the device
limits the current for protection purposes and shuts down the
voltage supply. The resulting loss of power means that
conventional circuit breakers and safety fuses are not reliably
tripped.
The solution: Weidmüller’s fusing concept WAVEGUARD
provides selective electronics fusing at this point.
With Weidmüller’s fusing concept, only
the failing circuit is isolated and its supply
of power shut down. The result is greater
plant availability with troubleshooting
times, in systems becoming more
complex by the day, reduced to a minimum.

compactPower – transformer power supplies
from Weidmüller
Weidmüller’s compactPower series of transformer power supplies –
available in single and three-phase versions up to 1000 W – are
utilized where process or control voltages are required that deviate
from the systems voltage. At this point they ensure galvanic isola-
tion between the input and output circuits. Weidmüller’s transformer
power supplies fulfil increased safety requirements in accordance
with DIN EN 61558. Further advantages of these products are:
· nominal voltage from ~230 V +/- ~15 V or
~400 V +/- ~15 V, 50/60 Hz
· short-circuit and overload protection on
the output side
· time-saving keyhole assembly
· snap-on fixing element for 35-mm DIN
mounting rails for devices up to 144 Watts.
· option for generating safety extra-low voltage SELV
