You will need at a minimum two bottles of power steering fluid, as you will lose some fluid during the install and you will also need to compensate for the additional volume of the cooler. You have the option to delete the factory cooling loop, or keep it in the system. This is your choice. Installation 1. Put your car on jack stands, just enough so the front tires are off of the ground. 2. Locate your power steering systems cooling loop. This kit is a universal power steering cooler kit that will work on almost any vehicle fitted with a power

steering system that also uses a cooling loop. These instructions are specific to the Hyundai Genesis

Coupe, but will still apply other vehicles.

Before Installing Before installing, make sure you have everything you need. You will need at a minimum two bottles of

power steering fluid, as you will lose some fluid during the install and you will also need to compensate

for the additional volume of the cooler.

Hyundai Genesis Coupe Power steering fluid: CHF 202

Use the diagrams below to determine the routing needed for the hoses. You have the option to delete

the factory cooling loop, or keep it in the system. This is your choice.

Installation 1. Put your car on jack stands, just enough so the front tires are off of the ground.

2. Locate your power steering systems cooling loop. In most vehicles it sits in front of the radiator,

but check your service manual to confirm. On the Hyundai Genesis, you will need to remove

your front bumper to access the cooling loop and the hoses.

The cooling loop will look like one of the following. Both BK1 (shorter) and BK2 (longer) are

shown here:

3. Follow the cooling loop to the end and locate the two hoses connected to the loop. These are

the in and out lines for the power steering fluid.

4. If you’re removing the cooling loop, then remove the hose clamps and then remove the hoses

from the looping loop. If you’re keeping the cooling loop, then you only need to remove the top

hose.

5. You will need to remove the hose from the other end where the hoses connect the loop to the

rest of the system. If you’re not keeping the cooling loop, then remove both hoses.

6. Find a place to mount your cooler. Do not secure it yet!

7. Once you have a location, roughly measure the length of hose you will need and then trim it

with a razor. Leave enough so that the hose will route around any obstacles and so that it does

not kink or bend. Do the same for the second line.

8. Install the new hoses on the hard lines. This may be a tight fit, but they will go on. Use a tiny bit

of Vaseline to help the hose go on to the hard lines. Use the supplied hose clamps to secure the

hoses to the hard lines.

Tip: to make it easier to put the hoses on, you can heat them in the over at 250* for 8-10

minutes.

9. Route the hoses as required to reach the cooler, and attach the lines to the cooler and then

secure with the hose clamps. It does not matter which hose goes to which side.

10. Secure the cooler to your chosen location using the supplied zip ties and/or barbed fasteners.

11. Secure the hoses so they are out of the way and do not move around.

12. You will have lost some power steering fluid in this process, top off the power steering fluid in

the reservoir.

13. With the key in the ignition (do not start the engine!!), turn the steering wheel lock-to-lock, that

is all the way left, then all the way right.

14. Top off the fluid reservoir to the cold fill line.

15. Repeat steps 13 & 14 until the fluid in the reservoir no longer goes down.

16. Check for any leaks and correct them.

17. Start the engine and then shut it off quickly. Ensure fluid reservoir is still at an appropriate level.

18. Start the engine once more and let it run, turning the steering wheel lock-to-lock and checking

the fluid level as you do it. You do not want the reservoir to run dry while the engine is running

or you will damage your pump.

19. Clean up and spilled fluids and then reinstall your bumper.

Fluid Flush

If your fluid is old, or you have over heated it at some point, you will want to do a fluid flush while you’re

doing this installation. Check your service manual for instructions on how to do that.
