POWER CLUB 8:18 4 5

Power Club 8:18 was envisioned by our Sr. Pastor Dr. Gerard Ruff to Create a 6 Caring Community of Commerce. This can only be done with individuals as 7 powerful as yourself followed closely by a strong commitment to endure to the 8 end. I am reminded of a message Dr. Ruff shared with us September 13, 2009 9 “One Choice Away”. Powerful ones, you are one choice away from starting, 10 dusting off or growing your own business. Habakkuk 2:2 reads “Write the 11 vision, and make it plain upon tables that he may run that readeth it“. 12 13 So together with the Power Club 8:18 team let us bring about the 4 C’s: 14 15 Create: Cause to come into being. 16 Caring: Serious attention, protection, to wish, desire, like. 17 Community: A social, religious, occupational or other group sharing common 18 characteristics or interest. 19 Commerce: Intellectual or spiritual interchange. The exchange of one’s views, 20 attitude, etc. 21

22 Power Club 8:18 Directory is found on 4 basic principles 23

24 As Christians, we need to support one another in business; 25 We promote and encourage business practices and ethic 26

according to biblical principles; 27 We believe in “paying a man a fair wage”; 28

We believe in tithing as a sound biblical principle. 29 30

2nd Chronicles 7:14: 31 “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray 32

and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from 33 heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 34

35 We claim God’s word: 36

37 Galatians 6:10 “So then, as we have opportunity, let us work that which is 38

good toward all men, and especially toward them that are of the household of 39 the faith.” 40

But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant,

which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today. Deuteronomy 8:18

Greetings in the name of the Lord! There is an awesome sense of expectation in the air. People of God are preparing like never before as God is positioning His church for a Kingdom revolution. A revolution that puts His Kingdom values and principles in greater prominence than those of which the kingdoms of this world have entrenched into our cultures and communities for years. It is evident; however, that God’s strategy includes transfer that will come as a result of transformation in the realms of influence in our world. We, the people of God, must understand that our gifts and callings make room for us and put us before Kings and people of influence. Think of Nehemiah and the King’s favor as he purposed to rebuild the Walls of Jerusalem. Joseph who was given authority over all in his master’s control or Daniel who found favor because of his gift to interpret the King’s dream. You are just such a people in places not by chance but by divine design so that he light of God’s Kingdom can be released in the market place as millions seek out goods, resources and services. So as it says in Deuteronomy 8:18, God gives you the power to get wealth and that wealth will help to establish His Kingdom rule over the kingdoms of this world. The Wealth of the World is laid up the Righteous!

Powerful Entrepreneur

Have you ever had a dream or vision and with a front row seat watched it come to fruition with someone else? What was your reaction? I give up; it must not have been for me. Some will silently say, “It was a stupid idea anyway.” Stop! You are seconds from talking yourself out of what God has given you. That idea was/is not stupid, it’s needed. I am convinced the grave is the richest place on earth. Many of our finest inventions, creations and solutions were buried with their earthly owners never brought to reality, thinking it was foolish or premature. I’m sure that if you speak with most prominent business owners they will tell you their story. They will share of the many dreams and visions they acted upon before destiny finally said this is the one. If your desire for entrepreneurship is only to bless you and yours please do not read any further. However, if it’s to bless your family, generations, and nations please read on (by doing so you will be blessed). Be mindful that the most negative dream stealer faces you in the mirror every morning. Without wisdom, patience, knowledge and understanding you will self destruct. There is a sign displayed at Disney quoting its legendary founder Walt Disney that reads “If you can dream it, you can do it.” Amazing! What a powerful time to have an Entrepreneurial spirit and change the world. With this fervor we too should find our BEST entrepreneurial spirit to achieve the highest success. This comes from trust in our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Dear business owners produce and receive wealth as God has promised us. We are in an era that has afforded us efficient yet affordable avenues to cultivate our businesses such as literature, conferences and vast means of technology. The Power Club 8:18 team challenges you to be a blessing to others by receiving the promises that God has just for you. Be encouraged and share your powerful testimony with others. Most of all, allow others to see in you Deuteronomy 8:18 “And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that he may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

DON’T QUIT

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all up-hill, When the funds are low and the debts are high,

And you want to smile but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns, As every one of us sometimes learns,

And many a failure turns about When he might have won had he stuck it out;

Don't give up, though the pace seems slow- You may succeed with another blow. Success is failure turned inside out-

The silver tint of the clouds of doubt, And you never can tell how close you are,

It may be near when it seems far; So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit-

It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

IF

If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;

If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,

Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,

And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master; If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;

If you can meet with triumph and disaster And treat those two imposters just the same;

If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,

Or watch the things you gave your life to broken, And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,

And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breath a word about your loss;

If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you

Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;

If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you; If all men count with you, but none too much;

If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -

Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!

THE VICTOR

If you think you are beaten, you are. If you think you dare not, you don’t

If you like to win but think you can’t, It’s almost a cinch you won’t.

If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost.

For out in the world we find Success begins with a fellow’s will.

It’s all in the state of mind. If you think you are outclassed, you are.

You’ve got to think high to rise. You’ve got to be sure of yourself before

You can ever win the prize. Life’s battles don’t always go

To the stronger or faster man. But sooner or later, the man who wins

Is the man who thinks he can!

Get up and make them!" -Madam C.J. Walker, creator of beauty products and the first female self-made millionaire 6) “The critical ingredient is getting off your butt and doing something. It’s as simple as that. A lot of people have ideas, but there are few who decide to do something about them now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. But today, the true entrepreneur is a doer, not a dreamer.” -Nolan Bushnell, founder of Atari & Chuck E. Cheese’s 7) “The important thing is not being afraid to take a chance. Remember, the greatest failure is to not try.” -Debbi Fields, founder of Mrs. Fields Cookies HARD WORK vs. LUCK 8) “Genius is 1% inspiration, and 99% perspiration.” -Thomas Edison, founder of General Electric (GE)

9) “I made a resolve then that I was going to amount to something if I could. And no hours, nor amount of labor, nor amount of money would deter me from giving the best that there was in me. And I have done that ever since, and I win by it. I know.” -Colonel Sanders, founder of KFC PERSEVERANCE 10) "When you reach an obstacle, turn it into an opportunity. You have the choice. You can overcome and be a winner, or you can allow it to overcome you and be a loser. The choice is yours and yours alone. Refuse to throw in the towel. Go that extra mile that failures refuse to travel. It is far better to be exhausted from success than to be rested from failure." -Mary Kay Ash, founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics 11) “It doesn’t matter how many times you fail. It doesn’t matter how many times you almost get it right. No one is going to know or care about your failures, and neither should you. All you have to do is learn from them and those around you because all that matters in business is that you get it right once. Then everyone can tell you how lucky you are.” -Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, co-founder of Broadcast.com, founder of HDNet GUIDING PRINICIPLES 12) “Entrepreneurs are risk takers, willing to roll the dice with their money or reputation on the line in support of an idea or enterprise.
