Congratulations to Pottsgrove SC Flying Dutchmen U18 girls who went a perfect 4-0 to open their 2013-14 tournament schedule with a team title at the MAPS Fall Challenge. Libby Frazier’s hat trick got the Flying Dutchmen rolling in a 4-1 win over the Lititz FC Fire to open tournament play. Marie Valenti added a solo tally in the win. Frazier then used a two-goal effort and Darby Wood and Jaid Mark each added one goal to propel Pottsgrove SC past the Pemberton (N.J.) Shock-wave, 4-0. Frazier then capped her high-scoring weekend with two more goals as the Dutchmen knocked off FC Pocono, 3-0. Wood added an insurance goal in the win. Kaitlyn Showalter then found the back of the net midway through the first half and Pottsgove SC held on for a 1-0 victory over Cherry Hill FC to cap the undefeated weekend. Goalkeeper Lexi Kehl picked up all three clean sheets on the weekend.

Pottsgrove Panthers U13 boys soccer travel team
won the Delco Championship defeating the King
of Prussia Prussians, 2-1, in the championship
game.
Mike Sereny scored in the first half on a penalty
kick at the two-minute mark. Collin Deckert
scored what proved to be the game winner at the
20th minute in the first half, assisted by Josh
Cerrito. Panthers goalie Evan Trani had 16 saves.
The Panthers closed out the fall season at 10-1-0.
Interested in Becoming a Certified Referee?
We are excited to announce that we have scheduled an
Eastern PA Certified Grade 8 referee course for Pottsgrove
Soccer Club. Upon completion of this course you will be
certified to be a referee of adult and youth games of all
ages, either as a Center Referee or an Assistant Referee in
our club as well as other clubs in Eastern PA. To register
for the course you must be at least 14 years old
by 2/26/14.
The classes will be held on the following dates: 2/19 – 2/21
and 2/24 – 2/26. The classes will start at 6pm and last ap-
proximately 3 hrs. The cost of the course is $100 and pay-
ment must be received before 1/10/14. If you are inter-
ested in signing up for the referee course, please contact
Bob Coons at [email protected] to register for the
course.
Space is limited, so please register as soon as possible to
ensure you get a seat in the class.
