Flue OptionsConcentric Flue The maximum equivalent lengths are 4m (horizontal and vertical). These lengths exclude the standard elbow and flue/terminal assembly (horizontal) and terminal assembly (vertical).

Twin Flue The total maximum permissible equivalent flue length for calculation purposes is 150m, however, in reality only 100m of physical flue pipe will be used, i.e. where air and flue pipes run parallel, the maximum permissible flue length per tube is 50m. Flue tubes should be counted as 2m and air tubes as 1m for this calculation.

To make sure our boilers are easy to fit, we’ve developed ‘Multifit’ – a unique range of fully compatible flue components. Working across the Potterton Gold range, they help ensure trouble-free installation, whatever the task. The following illustrations show you what’s available, and how they can help.

Please note: Potterton products are no longer supplied with a flue elbow in the boiler packaging.

*In addition, the terminal should be no nearer than 150mm to an opening in the building fabric formed for the purpose of accommodating a built-in element such as a window frame. See BS 5440 Pt1.

†Reduced clearances This range of boilers has been tested and approved for use with certain clearances less than those shown. Horizontal flues in positions D, E, F, G & H(i) may be reduced to 25mm. H(ii) may only be reduced to 115mm. Only one of these reductions may be used on a single installation.
