Collaborative Use of Collection --UCI ILL borrowing case

• 490 ILL requests for Chinese materials (8/1/2010 – 7/30/2011); 439 (90%) were successful

• 353 (80%) were from peer UC campuses, and 86 from non-UC libraries

• For the within-UC ILLs, 210 (60%) from south, and 143 from north• Top lending campuses: UCB (85), UCLA (63) and UCSB (47)• Top borrowing subjects: History (219), Literature (116), and Art (37)

– History books mainly from UCB and UCLA– Literature books mainly from UCSB and non-UC libraries– Large portion of Art books from non-UC libraries (17 out of 37)– Film (studies) mainly from UCSD and non-UC libraries
