SOUTH AMERICA POST SHOW REPORT The first edition of Infraportos South America, the only fair in South America dedicated to technology and equipment for Ports and Terminals showed that the perspective of an increase in private investments in the Port segment has already heated the market, which is a constant quest for innovation and solutions. That was the scenario seen along the three days of the event, held from the 22nd to the 24th of October, at the Mendes Convention Center, in Santos, state of São Paulo, which has brought together over 2830 people. Most of them were decision-maker players in their companies. “In 2011, we started holding Infraportos in a congress format. The success of the event and the perspective of millionaire investments in the Port segment urged the market to request that we turned the congress into a fair”, says Joris Van Wijk, director for UBM Brazil, organizer of the event. The Infraportos lectures approached themes related to infrastructure, building and investments, environment and legislation, Port efficiency, the new laws for ports, dry ports, new concessions, safety and automation. Moreover, the IV Fonseinp (Fórum nacional dos Secretários Nacionais da Indústria Naval, Portuária e correlatas – “National Forum of National Secretaries of Shipbuilding, Ports and correlated”) took place together with the event.

the correct decision-making process.

Wagner Biasoli, Chief executive ofcer – LIBRA TERMINAIS

For us, it’s been fundamental. We’ve found many potential clients there, and especially, skilled professionals responsible for selecting services or products.

And that was just the rst edition.

Arthur Briggs, Manager of MAMPAEY

We’ve searched for InfraPortos South America, which is Port Technology and Equipment fair, since we were just aiming at the Port market, as a new client.

We’ve found here a great opportunity to demonstrate our product and to make contact with new and potential clients. The fair counts on well-consolidated exhibitors and the visitors are mostly decision-makers, owners, managers etc. Hence, we’ve realized there’s a good potential for the establishment of new business and partnerships here, at InfraportosSouth America. We’ve left the rst edition of Infraportos South America quite excited about the results we expect to get from it.

Vínicius de Souza Vilela, Engineer,SIMPLEX EQUIPAMENTOS LTDA.

Brazil needs to improve its efciency at its Port Management, and this is done through technology, productivity and information, which is exactly what the main sector players nd at Infraportos.

Pedro Britto, Director, ANTAQ

Events like this one are extremely important, for acting as facilitators in the development and improvement of the Port Sector, especially now with the rise of the private ports.

Leonardo Cerquinho, Director of Port Management, COMPLEXO INDUSTRIAL PORTUÁRIO DE SUAPE

Infraportos is a fundamental event for the Port sector, since it allows us to discuss common problems with otherprofessionals, seeking shared solutions and exchanging experiences. The more synergy there is in the sector, the easier it will for us to be more competitive, in a responsible way.

Miguel Torres, Chief executive Ofcer, SCPAR PORTO DE IMBITUBA

Infraportos is interesting for professionals like me, who work in the area of pier maintenance, for introducing to us suppliers and new technologies. Here, I had the possibility of acquiring new equipment and get updated. I denitely intend to be here next year, to honor this event that is very good.

Luiz Rogério Pupo Gonçalves, Maintenance Supervisor, ECOPORTO DE SANTOS
