Project Brief

• Design and make a desktop storage device to hold mobile phone

• Design should be influenced by Postmodern Design styles

• Product will be made from Plywood, pine supports, paint and vinyl decals

• You will use 2D CAD to design the decals and 3D CAD to design the product

Initial ideas mobilehome

• At least 7 ideas• Use HB Pencil to mark construction & firm

lines• Outline just the perimeter with black ink• Add colour with colouring pencils• Cut out ideas and glue to A4 Landscape

CAD Development mobilehome

• Use Google Sketchup to draw the 3D model• Add colours, textures and patterns to each panel• Add shadows• Change ‘Style’ to white background• Export images as JPG pictures• Insert to an A4 landscape word doc• Arrange images carefully on the page• Add text box annotation

Success Criteria

2D CAD Development mobilehome

• Use Fireworks to draw the 2D patterns for the panels

• File new 8cm x 10cm• Copy and paste a BW

pattern from google images or draw patterns using line tool

• Use the paint fill tool to add CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow and black)
