To clean your Poster Maker, you need 91% Isopropyl Alcohol, a lint-free cloth or

sponge and paper towels.

Cleaning and Troubleshooting

On the underside of the lid, you will find three green squares. These are your print heads. We recommend that you clean them once a month or when you finish a roll of paper.


On the right, you will see a bronze bar. As you print, residue builds up on this bar. If you do not clean it, you will eventually see horizontal lines running along your posters because the residue has blocked the print head.


The residue will look like a dark line in the bronze bar.

Use 91% Isopropyl alcohol and a your lint free cloth or sponge. I recommend make-up sponges as they are lint free.

Wipe the bronze bar up and down to remove the residue. I recommend pushing the print head back with one hand while you scrub, so the print head doesn’t wiggle.


The print head carriage runs back and forth on this metal bar. The grease streaks can cause the carriage to move back and forth slower which sometimes tears the black film on top of the thermal transfer paper.


If you notice black streaks on this bar, take a paper towel with 91% Isopropyl alcohol on it and wipe the bar clean. You can also slide the print carriage all the way to the left to clean the right side of the bar.


If your scanned posters have vertical lines running down them as they come out of the Poster Maker, check your scanner for dirt. Usually, there is white out stuck on the glass under the digital display.


To clean the scanner, use the alcohol and sponge to clean the plate of glass.


If the rubber platen gets dirty, parts of your poster may not print out. Use a damp cloth to wipe the rubber down. Do not use alcohol on the rubber platen; that would break the rubber down.


If the rollers get dirty, they might have trouble pulling the paper through the machine. You can pick up the lint off of the rollers with tape. You will have to manually roll the rollers around to be able to clean the entire surface.
