Along these routes, different cultures exchanged ideas, religious beliefs, and trade goods, which improved the quality of living for various peoples around the world. Using the information that you compiled Chapter 7, and other source material (the Fordham University primary source location http://www.fordham.edu/Halsall/index.asp is an EXCELLENT resource) that you find about the postclassical period (600-1450), you will create a journal for a trader who is canvassing the world’s trade routes. Describe your travels in a seven entry journal. You must have a works cited page at the end of your journal that details what primary and secondary sources you used for this assignment. Where are you from? Include a hand drawn map showing the layout of your homeland and identify major buildings and places. Choose a five to ten year period for your journal and stick with the historical events that occurred during that period You must have at least one entry devoted to visiting the following locations: An African kingdom in the post-classical period, India in the postclassical period, Southeast Asia during this time period, and Europe during this time period. How has technology impacted your travels. Describe at least two pieces of innovations that you have used in your travels How do people dress in other countries? What do they eat in other countries? How does the way they live differ from the way you live in your homeland? Sketches? What political changes are happening (or have already happened) during this time period? Who are the major political players around the world? How does religion impact your society and the way you live your life? Include an illustrated cover and any other illustrations you might want to add. Appreciation will be given to well executed and accurate drawings.
