Successful continuationStrong growth in visitors’ numbers at 2nd TOS+H EXPO seamlessly continues success of première.

The second TOS+H EXPO (Occupational Safety + Health Exhibition) seamlessly continued the success of the première event two years ago and concluded with a large increase in the number of visitors.

From 8 to 11 May 2016 the Halic Congress Center in Istanbul attracted 5,223 trade visitors (3,540 in 2014) wanting to learn from 106 exhibitors (17 nations). The trade fair featured the latest trends in personal protection equipment, health at work, occupational safety and innovative products in those areas.

TOS+H EXPO ideally supplemented the 8th International Occupational Health and Safety Conference, organized by the Turkish Ministry for Labour and Social Security.

The combination of a conference with high-calibre speakers giving interesting talks, as well as discussions and a comprehensive overview of innovative products, equipment and services at the trade fair created a comprehensive

market and communication platform for the key topics of personal protection and health and safety at the workplace.

The second TOS+H EXPO was opened by the Turkish Labour Minister, Süleyman Soylu, thus impressively underlining the significance which the event has by now acquired.

The opening ceremony of the conference was attended by the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Minister of Labour and Social Security Süleyman Soylu, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak, Minister of European Union Volkan Bozkir, Minister of Maritime, Transport and Communications Binali Yildirim, Minister of Finance Naci A Bal, Minister of Economy Mustafa Elitas, representatives of international organizations, members of the parliament and also employers, unions and workers’ representatives and academics. Experts and repre-sentatives from 58 countries have also participated in the conference.

The conference focused on 34 different topics form ergonomics, psychological risk factors, improving and extension of OHS culture, proactive approaches to occupation-

al disease to the role of international and national organizations over sustainable OHS.

The next conference will again take place parallel to TOS+H EXPO 2018 in Istanbul.
