Framework for Cable RailingEnd Post ConstructionSince hundreds of pounds of tension are being applied to end posts using cable railing, those posts must be substantial enough to handle that tension.

bracket for mounting. The holes in the end posts are to be drilled straight through with a 29/64” bit and any intermediate posts must be drilled with offset holes to accommodate the angle of the stairs using a 3/16” bit.

ADI™ offers you the opportunity to provide a full tempered glass panel systems through Fortress Railing Systems.However, caution must be exercised since off the shelf glass panel systems have size limitations and are not flexibleto field adjustments such as ADI’s other rail systems.Additionally and most importantly is that the contractor / installer understands the parameters of the PureView™Glass Rail system. Ultimately it is the contractor that will have to provide the list of railing materials required for theproject since field measurements are required as well as an understanding of post placement / spacing to correlate tothe glass panel sizes.

The PureView™ Full Glass Panel System requires a two step process as outlined:1) Qualifying the prospect through a budgetary estimate. ADI will provide you with a per lineal foot cost range for

the PureView™ Glass Panel System that you can use for a rough budgetary cost and to qualify the prospect.Optionally you can provide a preliminary drawing and ADI will do the take off and estimate.

2) Once estimate is accepted and becomes a job it becomes the contractors responsibility to provide final glasspanel sizes and quantities based on actual deck dimensions as built. ADI is NOT able to provide a take off due totoo many variables and typical inconsistencies in drawings.

PureView™ Glass Panel System Design and Ordering GuidelinesThere are seven widths of tempered glass panels available. This is a limiting factor for each project. (If customglass is required then only rails, posts and brackets will be required substantially simplifying this process.)Glass Panel widths start at 31.25” and increment up in 5” increments. 31.25”, 36.25”, 41.25”, 46.25”, 51.25”,56.25”, and 61.25”. Glass thickness is ¼” nominal (6 mm). SEE CHART BELOW

Minimum opening size for smallest glass panel is 34.25” and maximum opening is 69”. Low voltage lighting utilizes a transformer to step the power down to 12 volt from 110 volt; the transformer is plugged into a standard wall outlet. Most transformers are approved for use indoor and outdoor. The wiring and installation method used on low voltage deck lighting is the same principle as low voltage landscape lighting: From the power source, the low voltage wiring is run in series from one light to the next, connecting all lights on one “main” low voltage wire. Connection to this main low voltage wire varies by manufacturer. Step lights, pathway lights, and accent lights can be attached to this same main low voltage wire. Installation is very easy with low

1. Make sure the dimmer is plugged into the transformer and that the light plugged into the dimmer are on.

2. With the lights still on unplug the transformer from the outlet. 3. Allow the lights to shut off 4. Press and hold the up and down arrow buttons on the remote. 5. While holding those buttons plug the transformer back into the outlet. 6. The lights will flash quickly once. 7. Release the up and down arrow buttons. 8. Press the power button on the remote once. 9. The lights should shut off. If the lights shut off after pressing the power

button press the power button a few more times to confirm that the lights turn on and off. Your remote is programmed enjoy.

10. If the lights do not shut off after pressing the power button repeat steps 1 through 8.

11. If after repeating steps 1 through 8 and pressing the power button on the remote does not shut off the lights, try replacing the battery and repeating steps 1 through 8.

12. If after replacing the battery and repeating steps 1 through 8 and the remote still does not turn the lights off contact DEKOR.

REQUIREMENTS:Before you begin, make sure you have an external, weatherproof, protected 110 volt outlet that meets GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter) standards. Mount the LED Driver at least 18 inches above the ground. Best results can be achieved when you have access to the underside of your deck or installation surface. Do not install more than 24 Lineal Feet of Odyssey LED Strip Lighting on one driver box.

CAUTION: Use eye protection when using power tools. Do not install more than 24 lineal feet of LED Strip Lights on one driver box. Do not install within 10 feet of a pool, fountain or spa.

POWER SOURCE: Mount the LED Driver Box at least 18 inches above the ground near your outlet using screws. Do not plug it in. [ILLUS. 1]

Determine the locations for your LED lights on your railing, stair nosing, etc. Keep in mind that your farthest LED Strip light can be no more than 100 feet from the LED driver box using the wire included in this kit.

FOR STAIR INSTALLATION: [ILLUS. 2] using a table saw or router, cut a 3/16”wide x 3/8” deep channel the full lengthof the stair nosing. For best results, TheLED Strip should be at least ½” from stairriser to avoid hot spots.

FOR HANDRAIL INSTALLATION: [ILLUS. 3] using a table saw or router, cut a 3/16”wide x 3/8” deep channel the full lengthof the handrail. For best results, The LEDStrip should be at least ½” fromhorizontal surfaces to avoid hot spots.The bottom of your hole needs to be flat so the light lays in correctly.

Prior to gluing the LED Strip lighting into place, be sure to lay out your LED Strips in such a way that you can connect the wires from one LED strip to the next. If your LED strips will be more than 8’ apart, you can use portions of the 100’ wire included in the kit to extend the LED strip. If your wires will be less than 8’ apart, you can trim the length of wire to required length. Please note the location that the wire connectors will end up before you trim the wires – you will need a pocket or void to conceal the wire connectors.

T R O U B L E S H O O T I N G T I P S :Make sure all wires are connected in like color pairs. Make sure the remote control has a battery and it is

installed correctly. If you choose to bypass the remote, be sure to remove the remote driver from the set-up and connect the twisted pair wires directly to the power box.

4 Starting with the LED Strip farthest from thepower source, connect the LED Strips in series.There is no need to cut or strip the wire. Firstinsert the black wires into the open side of aconnector so that it fits snugly in the spaceprovided. Squeeze the connector closed usinga pair of pliers. Repeat this process to connectthe white wires with another connector. Connect all lights in this manner. [ILLUS. 4]

At each connection point, you will need a pocket or a void to conceal the connectors. This can be done using a 1/2:” spade or forstner bit. Drill a ½” deep hole to allow space for the connectors. [ILLUS. 5]

NOTE: The LED Strips farthest from the power source (The last LED Strip on the wire run) will be capped separately with a connector at the end of your installation. Do not connect the white and black wires on the same connector – this will short the entire system. It is ok to cut the remaining 4’ of wire if needed to conceal the connectors. See Figure #6

Once all of the LED Deck lights have been connected to the wire, connect the end of the twisted wire to the remote driver or power box. Connect the Remote Control Driver wires to the end of the twisted wire using two connectors. The black wire must be connected to the positive wire lead as noted on the transformer, and the white wire must be connected to the negative wire. See Figure #7

Use of the remote is optional and the remotedriver can be bypassed by removing it from thepower source. See Figure #8

Plug in the power source to make sure all lights are working properly. Unplug before proceeding to the final steps. Using a caulk gun, run a bead of silicone sealant or caulk in the channel the entire distance of the slot cut for the LED Strip and wire. [ILLUS. 9] Do not use excessive amounts of silicone. Center the LED Strip on the material, and press into the slot so that it seats down evenly in the slot. If needed, a bead of silicone can overlay the wires to provide additional hold.

When all lights are installed, plug in the power cord, and operate using either the remote control or the light switch.
