DORMITORY CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT

If you have previously applied for dormitory placement and have received a room, please go toSzntdormitory upon your arrival to Pcs. There is a non-stop reception service at thedormitory but you may have to wait a few minutes for the personnel.

You will need to fill out the check-in form at the dormitory, sign the student hostelaccommodation service contract and comply with all house rules.

Before moving out from the dormitory you will need to sign a check-out form. You will need

to leave before the 3rdday of the month in order to receive your accommodation

contribution for that month!

If you have not received dormitory placement, you are entitled to a monthly accommodation

contribution of HUF 30.000 to rent a private apartmentplease see next slide.

Important general information: Stipendium Hungaricum students are entitled to receive monthly

pocket money (HUF 40.460 for BA and MA students, HUF 100.000 for PhD students).

RENTING A FLAT IN PCS

For incoming students who require superior quality accommodation, rented flats are an alternative. Renting a flat canprovide students with the peace, comfort and privacy they require.

The Central Student Service Office (KSZI, http://koszi.pte.hu/alberlet/english.php) has a large database ofaccommodations available for rent. Prices range between approximately HUF 45,000 - 150,000 (+ utilities) for afurnished flat with central heating for two persons that is fairly near to the city centre and/or faculties of theUniversity.

There are numerous private companies in town, two of them are Student Housingand iHome which offer freeapartment-finding service for students. They have the largest database of apartments for rent in Pcsfrom 30.000

HUF/month.They offer: houses, apartments and flats for rent, roommate search

They make appointments with the landlords and they take you out by car to view apartments, provide you a rentalcontract, etc.

All non-EU citizens must check in at the OI within 30 days after their arrival to Hungary.

Please take the following documents with you:

1.) Valid passport / national ID

2.) One passport-size photo

3.) Datasheet from their website (Residence Permit for the

Purpose of Studies - filled out)

4.) Letter of Award (from Tempus Public Foundation)

5.) Student status certificate (from Registrars Office) and/orLetter of Admission (from your study programme)

6.) Dormitory contract OR(if you live in a rented flat) lease

agreement + a copy of ownership certificate from landlord +

accommodation report form

Then:

Wait for the call or e-mail from OI. It takes approx. 1-2 weeks

until your residence permit card arrives.

If you live in a flat, make sure you have your name on the

mailbox in order to receive official letters sent by any authority. Visit again the OIin office hours or book an appointment (see

above)

Submit your passport and refer to the phone call or e-mail

where OInotified you about your new residence permit card.

Sign the documents and receive your residence permit.

PLEASE ALWAYS KEEP UP WITH THE OIs DEADLINES!

Important general information:

With the type Dvisa you received atthe Hungarian Consulateyou can only

travel in to Hungary once and its only

valid for 30 days (the 30 days starts

when you enter at the Hungarian

border), so please make sure you visit

the OI as soon as possible preferably

in the first two weeks of your arrival. If

you are under 18 years old, you are a

minor in Hungary you will need a legal

representative who signs the official

MEDICAL INSURANCE APPLICATON

PROCESS

After you have received your residence permit please, visit the Central Registrars Office(KzpontiTanulmnyiIroda - KTI), and apply for your Hungarian medical insurance card (TAJcard). Please, look for Ms. Terzia BN at the customer service office.

You will need to bring the following documents with you: Passport

Valid residence permit

Accommodation confirmation ( or address card)

Stipendium Hungaricum verification (Letter of Award)

Student status certificate (from your facultys registrars office, issued not more than 30 days

prior to your application!)

It takes approximately 1-2 weeks to issue your TAJ card, then it will be posted to the address youhave provided previously.

In case you have moved to a new address or you fail to receive your card, you will need topersonally pick it up at the National Health Insurance Fund (OrszgosEgszsgbiztostsiPnztr

OEP) at 7623 Pcs, Nagy Lajos Kirlyu. 3.

STUDENT CARD APPLICATION PROCESS

1. First, go to the government office to fill out the application document.Address: SzntKovcs Jnos u. 1.Opening hours: Mon: 7:00-17:00, Tue: 8:00-18:00, Wed: 8:00-19:00,

Thu: 8:00-18:00, Fri:8:00-16:00),

TAKE PASSPORT AND STUDENT STATUS CERTIFICATE WITH YOU!

2. Provide your personal data exactly as it is written in your passport! You willreceive a paper there, please make sure that your data on the paper matchesexactly with your data in your electronic unified education system - Neptun(if your data is different in the system, please visit the Registrars Office atyour faculty and ask them to update your personal data)! Fill in the NEKnumberfrom this document to NEPTUN. HUF 1400 due fee will automaticallyappear in NEPTUN account.

3. Pay HUF 1400 at your faculty cashier (on campus), and keep the paymentreceipt!

4. After 3 days you can go to Central Registrars Office (KTI, address: SzntK. J.utca 1.) to pick up your temporary student card.

5. After 4 weeks - pick up permanent student card at the government office (ithas to be validated for every semester by a sticker!)

OPENING A BANK ACCOUNT

In order to receive your monthly Stipendium Hungaricumallowances you will need to open a Hungarian bank account atany bank available in Pcs.

Ask your buddy to go with you and help you with translation

Take all personal documents with you including passport,student status certificate and residence permit, if you havealready received it!

After you have opened your new bank account number go toyour Facultys registrars office and provide them your Hungarian

bank account number so they can upload it to Neptun. As longas your account number is not in the system, you will not receiveany of your SH monthly allowances, therefore please do this assoon as possible!

BUS TICKETS, BUS FARESBefore you board a bus, you should buy your tickets froma newsagent, in the ticket offices of the PcsPublicTransport Company or in the Tourinform officedo notforget to validate your ticket after boarding! Tickets canalso be bought from the bus driver, but this is moreexpensive.

General information

If you get sick (e.g. fever, flu, diarrhea, sore throat etc.) you will need to go tothe GP within her opening hours. Always have your Hungarian health

insurance card (TAJ card) with you to access free treatment (otherwise onemeeting with the doctor costs HUF 2500). If necessary the GP may redirectyou to a specialist for special treatment. Prescribed medicines can be boughtat any pharmacies/drug stores with the prescription from the doctor.

If you fell sick outside the GPs opening hours, you will need to go to theGeneral Practitioner on duty at Rkczit2. (Megyei Krhz CountyHospital - from 15:00) with similar symptomes described above.

In case you have serious illness or accident (and you are able to get thereyour self), you will need to go to the Department of Emergency Medicine(address: Ifjsgt13. (Janus Pannonius Clinical Centerformerly known as:400-bed Clinic).

Withdental issues first go to Veress Endre utca 2. (EgyestettEgszsggyiIntzmnyek, III. sz. Rendelintzet)with your Hungarian buddy and findout to which dental district you belong to, then visit your designated dentist.Basic treatments are for free with your TAJ card and your address card, butmore complex dental treatments are to be paid by the patient.
