“A Message from the Commander” The Post Officers would like to remind all members the importance of paying your dues. As of January 1st, any member who has not paid their dues is not an active member of the Post. We have important membership targets to meet for the Department of Florida so it’s important you get your dues paid. You can mail a check to the Post or pay your dues to the bartender in the lounge with credit card or cash. We have our annual Car Show & Sock Hop at the Post on Saturday, February 8th, from 11 – 4. We hope to see everyone come out to the Post and enjoy a great day. We have finally

moved forward with the parking lot and the work is complete except for some painting so the parking lot is open all around the building once again. We appreciate your patience throughout this process. Thank you all for your support of Post 142 and we hope to see you all at the Post!!

MESSAGE FROM THE AUXILIARY PRESIDENT Hello Ladies! Well, the holidays have come and gone, I hope you all enjoyed yourself. I am told that the dinner for Thanksgiving and Christmas were well attended. In past years, when we didn’t have our family close, it was so nice to be able to share a meal with our Legion Family. Our unit is going to hit the road running with our Raffle for a Curved big Screen Samsung TV. Tickets are $10 a piece, so get them before we run out. The winner will be called at 3:00 PM on March 14, 2020 during the Post’s Mash Bash. Ask any auxiliary member or bartender for your tickets today!

Our annual fashion show is in the planning stages. It will be held on March 7, 2020 at 1:00PM here at the Post. Clothing from Patchington’s will be modeled and available for purchase that day. We need some help with the decorating, set-up and tear-down. Anyone wishing to help are more than welcome. You can contact our Secretary Mary Stawicki, 954-775-4680 or me, Denice, at 754-264-4388. Message from Post 142 SAL/Squadron Commander As we begin the month of February, I would like to congratulate our squadron for surpassing 100% membership for the 5th consecutive year. Our squadron has added 13 new members this year!! Our 3rd Annual Country & Western Party will be held Saturday, February 22nd at the tiki hut. Please come out and join us for a great afternoon of food, music, raffles and more. The event is from noon to 4pm. I hope everyone has a great month and I look forward to seeing you all at the Post!! Message from The Director; Post 142 Legion Riders

Our fourth Riders meeting was held January 23rd. New Rider permanent membership cards are available upon payment of your annual dues. Both Rider members and Supporter members are encouraged to attend, to join and to participate. We are planning bi-monthly rides. Our first ride was January 5th when we rode to the Plantation Legion Post 180 for breakfast. We had a strong showing with 11 bikes, 13 members and 2 guests.
