Possessive pronouns show possession or ownership. They take the place of possessive nouns.

Possessive pronouns indicate person, number and gender. They must agree with their antecedents. Jerome’s – his The kids’ – theirs

Possessive Pronouns & Adjectives There are also possessive adjectives.
Don’t confuse them with possessive pronouns. Possessive adjectives precede the nouns they modify. Possessive pronouns stand alone.
The possessive adjectives are my, your, his, her, its, and their.
