What is PBIS?

Research supports the conclusion that PBIS, when integrated with effective academic instruction, provides the support students need to become actively engaged in their own learning and academic success. Defined by Ohio Department of Education

#1: Teaching appropriate behavior in ALL settings. Parks and recreation can be the link for students of behavior in schools to social and community settings;

Components of PBIS

#2: Interventions when behavior expectations are not met. Parks and recreation services provide an opportunity to help enforce what the schools are teaching, in a FUN way;

#3: Recognition when behaviors are met.

Parks and Recreation is where the benefits are endless so the chance to catch them doing something good should be easy for all on staff, and in your community!
