Market Approach

SERVICE DESCRIPTIONS

Market Intelligence

This 3-in-1 deep dive helps you define your export strategyand explores how your product would be distributed andpositioned. The Store Check and Distribution Analysis providesinsight into how your product would reach the store shelves. A Competitive Product Shopping programgives you a visual guide to see how your product compares in presentation and price with category competition. The Imports Evaluation sheds light on import requirements and how a specific product would pass the country’s import specifications. Because prices and country regulations vary, different markets have set various purchase limits. Most markets include up to $150 of products except for Europe ($30) and Canada ($50).Recommended for new-to-market companies that have approached a market informally or through basic tactics.

Market Exploration

Through this track you will gain understanding of your product’s strengths and weaknesses by having physical samples of your product, shipped at your own cost, evaluated by selected importers. Your contractor will complete an analysis for market feasibility and prepare a final report with information from the participating importers supported by additional market sources. Additional shipping costs may apply.Recommended for new-to-market companies or companies exploring new channels or sales formats.

Product Analysis

If you are planning to attend a trade show that does not already have a WUSATA pavilion or your company doesn't have an in-country partner, this service provides you with logistics, booth, and meeting coordination support, as well as on-site assistance. Gain a curated network of buyer contacts seeking products just like yours. Our goal is to facilitate quality buyer meetings; the number of buyer meetings depends upon the size of the show. The base cost for this track includes 2-3 hours for set up, a translated flyer, and booth registration coordination. It does not include booth fees, translated business cards, samples services, booth extras, and all travel expenses (airfare, lodging, transportation, meals, etc.). If a trade show is outside of a headquartered GPS country market, or headquartered city within the market, travel expenses for the consultant will apply. Deadlines are the responsibility of the exhibiting company and you will be asked to name one key contact person at your company. Any additional costs are outlined by the GPS consultant prior to committing to this track.Recommended for companies already in a market looking to expand their sales, additional distribution or new formats and channels or who have participated in inbound or outbound trade missions to a market.

Trade Show Coordination

The Market Intelligence Report is a general overview of a market’s economy, consumer behavior, business culture, retail formats, import channels, and import requirements. It provides a snapshot ofthe category market size and considerations, as well as main distribution channels. It also identifies key players in import, sales and distribution as well as a competitor’s analysis. This report is built from current and relevant data sources and strategic insight gained from decades of on-the-ground experience. The report conclusion includes clear action recommendations and final expectations. Recommended for new-to-market companies without any prior approach to the target market.

To help you pursue a defined market approach, your GPS consultant will coordinate and facilitate meetings with up to four targeted importers. Smaller markets or niche products may result in fewer meetings that are more impactful. You will receive an overview of the importers and a detailed itinerary. Your GPS consultant will arrange to have samples imported, shipped at your cost, for presentation during the meetings. Your GPS consultant will also coordinate logistics and, if appropriate, provide on-site assistance. After the meeting, you will receive feedback and a full activity report that includes recommended next steps. The base price for this track includes up to four meetings on one day. You may purchase more than one day if you choose and if your GPS consultant feels there are enough importers to fill additional meetings. Recommended for new-to-market companies that have previously attempted to export to this market, companies that have participated in inbound or outbound trade missions with a market, or companies looking for additional distribution as well as new formats and channels.
