THE ROLE

This position forms part of Entersekt’s business architecture function, which reports to the CTO. Your role will be to help identify areas in which Entersekt can innovate and win, and eliminate those in which we cannot establish a competitive edge. This will involve understanding the financial services industry, current solutions in the market, and emerging trends. You will have to consider the strategic plan of a business while solving for the actual day-to-day functions and processes. You will need to engage with the larger Entersekt organization such as the business development, product, engineering, and solutions teams, as well as our customers, current and potential partners, and other industry stakeholders. Additionally, you will help prioritize, define, and pitch solutions so that they are ultimately executed as part of Entersekt’s strategy.

Your communication skills are excellent, and you naturally collaborate to find the right solution. You enjoy understanding new industry areas, designing proposals, and obtaining stakeholder buy-in. You can hold your own with industry peers and can communicate your position effectively. Your work should be understood by business and technical stakeholders, as well as external customers/partners. You can think about the big picture, and interpret the strategic direction to influence and align stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Business architecture • Integrates knowledge of the business’s overarching strategy into leading programs and

projects within the CTO function • Gives advice regarding execution strategy, and leads the development and deployment

of initiatives within the CTO function • Engages stakeholders to act; serves as a source of expert advice; influences change;

frames information in a broader business context to ensure close alignment between the CTO, engineering and product functions

• Provides leadership guidance, makes recommendations, and collaborates with businesses to ensure our solutions meet their needs

• Identifies problems, and leads their resolution at all levels

• Identifies areas within which to innovate by detecting inefficiencies or change drivers inside the financial services industry

• Solves unique and ambiguous problems with broad impact; typically oversees standards, controls and operating methods that have a strategic impact on the business

• Uses innovative thinking to develop new solutions • Provides and co-creates innovative and explorative ideas, helps manage and prioritize these ideas,

and defines approaches to validate these concepts • Engages with new third-party providers and partners to understand their offering, and to define

potential combined use cases or opportunities to explore together

Industry & partners

• Anticipates emerging business trends and regulatory/risk issues as a basis for recommending large-scale product, technical, functional, or operational improvements

• Keeps up to date with industry standards and trends, and analyst positioning • Participates in relevant industry forums to help move Entersekt’s position forward • Provides industry updates and interpretations to the rest of the organization • Reviews industry material, distills key areas of exploration, and crafts plans of action to do so

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• 7+ years’ experience in a technical/software environment, preferably in an externally facing role

• A solid understanding of the financial services industry and customer-facing services

• An engineering, computer science, or relevant technology degree, supported by a commerce MBA

• Experience with fintech industry solutions

• Experience writing and presenting product or solution proposals, and positioning statements

• Can to build a “story” to explain concepts and positions to various stakeholders including commercial, business, and technical stakeholders

• Experience of participating industry bodies and standards, such as W3C, Fido, OpenID Connect, IEEE, IETF, or others will be beneficial

• Experience with one or more of the following: financial services, mobile platforms, consumer-facing solutions and/or payment/EFT systems, preferably from a software vendor perspective

• Systems engineering and/or requirement elicitation exposure will be an advantage
