Position Summary
Organisation Background
Access Health and Community (AccessHC) is the new name for Inner East Community Health Service and Manningham Community Health Service.
AccessHC operates in the Cities of Boroondara, Manningham and Yarra offering a range of medical, health and community services.Biala Box Hill Early Childhood Intervention Service has also merged with Access

Health and Community enabling the past close relationship/partnership with the STRIDE Early Intervention Team to become one consolidated team, now known as Biala-Stride Early Childhood Intervention.

This position will be funded through a mix of options such as full fee paying, Medicare, Helping Children with Autism, Better Start and NDIS packages. We aim to provide an efficient, high quality, evidence-based, paediatric psychology service to eligible children and their families as part of an Access Health and Community integrated Child and Family Services system.
The position encompasses promotion of health and wellbeing across the spectrum from prevention and early intervention through to a range of treatments for various conditions. The role is expected to foster an environment that reflects our consumer focus of client centred care that is coordinated within a multidisciplinary team approach. All staff at Access HC work within the social model of health.
Position Functions
Key areas of accountability
Service Delivery & Development In partnership with families assess, plan and provide therapy for children with a
wide range of developmental, cognitive, social and emotional needs, inclusive of children who are eligible for ECIS and NDIS services.
Initiate, plan, implement and evaluate group therapy programs for children as appropriate.
Perform home, childcare and preschool visits if required to facilitate participation/transition of the child in the community.
Liaise and work in partnership with other members of the Child Development Team, Biala-Stride Early Childhood Intervention Team and other relevant Access Health and Community Teams.
Paediatric Psychologist – Fee for Service
Participate in client care meetings/department meetings for the purposes of team care planning, case conferencing and reviews as relevant.
Work with the Manager: Child Development Team and department colleagues to maintain and develop this fee for service psychology service
Develop and foster professional relationships with other providers and agencies in the community to ensure that effective referrals and sustainable self-management opportunities for clients are offered
Actively market fee for service Psychology internally, with current referrers and in the wider community
Contribute to the development of information for inclusion in the soon to be created Access Health and Community website

Position Requirements
Applicants are required to provide a written statement addressing the Key Selection Criteria (KSC) with the Cover Letter.
Key Selection CriteriaAn appropriate post graduate degree in Psychology or equivalent tertiary qualification M
Endorsement as an educational/developmental or clinical Psychologist M
Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA) M
Demonstrated experience and expertise in supporting families of children with a variety of developmental delays and disorders in accordance with the principles of Family Centred Practice.

Experience in planning and delivering group therapy programs. M
Ability to work both independently and as part of multi-disciplinary team M
Ability to work autonomously, make decisions, organise own workload, set priorities and meet deadlines. M

Well-developed written and verbal communication skills. M
Experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds D
Experience working in a fee for service capacity including the understanding of billing systems and Medicare compliance

Ability to speak a second relevant community language D
Licence to drive a motor car D
Computer literacy including familiarity with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power point. D
