Position Overview The NSW Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) is a Public Trading Enterprise within the Family and Community Services cluster. LAHC owns and manages the Government’s public housing portfolio of some 130,000 properties within New South Wales. Future Directions for Social Housing in NSW sets out the Government’s vision to transform the social housing system over the next 10 years with LAHC playing a critical role in delivering the benefits of this new and innovative model for social housing. Position Overview

The NSW Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) is a Public Trading Enterprise within the Family and Community Services cluster. LAHC owns and manages the Government’s public housing portfolio of some 130,000 properties within New South Wales.

Future Directions for Social Housing in NSW sets out the Government’s vision to transform the social housing system over the next 10 years with LAHC playing a critical role in delivering the benefits of this new and innovative model for social housing. In particular, a key feature is the Communities Plus program where LAHC will fast-track the redevelopment of its social housing portfolio in partnership with the private sector and community housing sector to 23,000 new and replacement social housing dwellings and more than 500 affordable dwellings in integrated communities with more than 40,000 private dwellings.

Corporate Service Division leads the development and delivery of a diverse range of corporate functions to support the delivery of LAHC’s business objectives and ensure compliance with statutory requirements and government policy.

Human Resources supports and partners LAHC Divisions and associated Business Units in the effective management of people, providing advice on the implementation, management, evaluation and improvement of all workforce processes, plans and work health and safety.

• Assist with the implementation of relevant HR initiatives in the LAHC Human Resources team

• Undertake research and contribute to drafting advice in the forms of briefing notes, policies and/or Ministerial responses

• Actively participate at relevant project meetings and contribute to the development of innovative HR solutions

• Provide assistance and support to other Corporate Services teams as required

Key accountabilities

• Work autonomously and within a team environment to achieve key performance indicators, ensuring deliverables meet quality expectations and comply with defined policies protocols and timeframes.

• Undertake tasks that contribute to the design, implementation and coordination of projects which deliver effective business unit outcomes and meet client service delivery needs.

• Build working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate achievement of business outcomes.

• Identify and escalate complex matters or issues that may impact the delivery of services to the business unit manager.

• Conduct research and analysis that contribute to the development of policies, procedures and guidelines.

Key challenges

• Operating in a complex organisation undergoing significant structural and service delivery reform and this role will require the occupant to display a high level of change agility.

• Progressively building an understanding of the institutional frameworks and conventions which guide work in the NSW Government including legislative and budgetary processes.

• Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders given the diverse and varied range of stakeholders.

Currently studying in final or penultimate year of a relevant undergraduate or post-graduate degree with an Australian university

Australian citizenship May be subject to reference checks, criminal history clearance and working with children
