Stepping Forward Therapy Services has just made available an exciting new opportunity for a Physiotherapist seeking more experience in paediatrics to join our dynamic and dedicated team in Surrey Hills. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with babies, through to adolescents, assessing and treating a wide range of conditions. We are looking for an enthusiastic Physiotherapist with a sound working understanding of a range of paediatric conditions, both neurological and musculoskeletal, seeking experience in assessment and treatment of children from infancy to adolescence. This position involves clinic and communi ty visits. Our clinic is a well equipped facility, providing therapists with a great environment for functional assessment and opportunities to deliver play based therapy and engaging therapy programs. With experienced Physiotherapists on our team, not to mention Occupational Therapist and Orthotist at the same clinic, interdisciplinary support and professional development is provided. Stepping Forward Therapy Services recognizes the specialized nature of paediatrics, and therefore this position offers substantial support and professional development opportunities to assist in meeting our philosophy of best practise. Description of Clinical Responsibilities o Clinical expertise in the assessment, treatment and management of infants, children and adolescents within the clinic setting and in the community. o Community based therapy sessions for children at home/school/broader community ,in cluding travel. o Equipment prescription, sourcing and sourcing funding as required. (Including orthotic) o Multidisciplinary team liaising and reporting as required. o Report writing, assessments and submissions as required. Experience in Standardised As sessment delivery and soring, preferred. o Participation in professional development program. (This position includes regular mentor ing and support. Professional Development is encouraged at Stepping Forward Therapy Services, and the Physiotherapist may apply for financial support for relevant courses, etc.) o Accurate and uptodate record keeping and correspondence. o Caseload management. o Administration tasks such as letters and reports required to support all physiotherapy re lated work.

o Marketing  and  Promotion  tasks  as  set  by  the  Director.    

Selection  Criteria:  

• Professional   registration   as   a   Physiotherapist   with   the   Physiotherapy   Board   of   Australia  through  the  Australian  Health  Practitioner  Regulation  Agency  (AHPRA)  

• Clinical  expertise  and  theoretical  knowledge  in  the  assessment  and  management  of  infants,  children  and  adolescents  

• Excellent  written  and  verbal  communication  skills  

• Excellent  organisational  and  time  management  skills  

• Participation  in  continuous  quality  improvement  processes  

• Commitment  to  continuing  professional  development  

• Demonstrated  understanding  of  manual  handling  risk  reduction  

• Driver’s  License  and  car.  

• Computer  literacy  (at  least  intermediate  skill  level  in  MS  Word)    

• Current  Working  With  Children  Check  and  Police  Check.    

• Preference  will  be  given  to  applicants  who  demonstrate  commitment  to  delivering  a  high  quality  of  care.  This  role  is  suitable  for  a  Physiotherapist  who  has  had  experience  working  with  children  in  an  undergraduate  or  post  graduate  capacity.
