TIPURI DE RELIEF
De-a lungul coastei atlantice se întinde o câmpie cu țărmul drept, cu puține golfuri și estuare, în nord mai îngustă și în sud mai largă. În estul acestei câmpii se ridică Messeta – platoul central iberic (300-900 m altitudine) tăiat de văile apelor.
La nord sunt lanțuri muntoase paralele, nu prea înalte, orientate de la nord-estcătre sud-vest: Serra de Marao, Serra de Noqueira, Serra de Estrella, cu cel maiînalt vârf din țară – Pico de Serra (1991 m).
La sud de fluviul Tejo se întind platouri joase și câmpii vălurite, înconjurate delanțuri muntoase.Arhipelagul Azore, aflat la 1500 km de Portugalia, este vulcanicArhipelagul Madeira se află la 500 km de coasta Marocului
