PORTFOLIOof

Szandra Barutkin

About meHello, I‛m Szandra Barutkin, 22, and I just finished my BA in Communication and Media (specialization in PR, advertising and marketing) at the Budapest College of Communication and Business.

You wonder what is my connection with the fashion You wonder what is my connection with the fashion world? Well, let my portfolio do the introduction for me. I have been working as a makeup artist in

Budapest for the past 3 years. As an active member of the “fashion society” in Budapest, I worked at photoshootings and fashion shows, mostly with the

so-called “future generation” (designers, photographers). It did not only give me opportunity to photographers). It did not only give me opportunity to test myself in different situations, but also helped me

develop my “third eye” for sensing fashion.

This portfolio collects my best pieces of work which are also my favourites. The makeup was done by me at every shooting, and I made a notice at the photos,

where hair and styling was my task too.

In my opinion, one can always stick to classic fashion, but if we never try anything new, it means we refuse

to take action discovering something new.

Fall

editorial

Spring

This project was meant to be an editorial for jewellery. The basic idea

was to create natural look, overhydrated makeup with pearly lips, simply structured wet hair, so all eyes could be focused on the

tribal jewellery. It turned out at the photoshooting, the model can cope photoshooting, the model can cope

with a little more colour..

When I asked the photographer to send me the moodboards for the

pre-diploma work of Kata Burjan, he said “there is no moodboard this time, I just want her to glow in the dark, you see what I mean?”. Actually I wasn’t sure what he was going for, but I wanted to avoid party look, so but I wanted to avoid party look, so instead of glitters, I used intensively

reflecting pigments.

MINIMAL

STYLEMAKING EYE-CATCHING PHOTOS IN

THIS STYLE IS NOT SO EASY AS IT MIGHT SEEM.

THERE ARE NO DETAILS THAT CAN ATTRACT ATTENTION,

SOSO THE STYLING AND THE MODEL MUST BE PERFECT

IN A COLD, STERILE WAY.

SHOWROOMKEPP showroom was founded in 2009 by five talendet young designers, who are students of Moholy-Nagy University of Art

and Design. This special project was created to show the variation of

high-quality textiles and sophisticated knits.

This collection is based on parts, which combine simplicity and gentility, sparkling with the masculine look. The rigidly textured materials are combined with ethereal light textiles.

This project was meant to express bitterness, which progressively alters to deep sorrow. It also

shows sadness and a little hint of suffering, but in a very calm way.

This time the makeup was synchronised with the outfit, both started from light colours, ended started from light colours, ended up in black. The makeup was a

little greasy, making it easier to splotch, whenever it comes to express intensive feelings of

BITTERNESS.

TEST shoots

These photos are so-called “test photos”, These photos are so-called “test photos”, which are made for models with the

intention to help them get their carrier started. Since these are usually low budget shootings, the makeup artist is not only responsible for their basic

task, but also the hair and styling. It was satisfying, that I could finally push was satisfying, that I could finally push all my inspirations – not just makeup –

into the photos.
