RAILWAY BRIDGERAILWAY BRIDGEAg. Stefanos_Greece_ 2006-2007Model_T. Chatzi RodopoulouDesign_T. Chatzi Rodopoulou, L.Tsafoulia Aim of the project

The aim of the project is the design of a pedestrian railway bridge, located in the woodland of Agios Stefanos. The basic goal was the creation of a bridge that would be open to its context, being not just a functional element but also an attraction for the passersby of the area. Based on this idea, the bridge is

designed to house small scale temporary exhibitions. Two different possibilities are offered to the passerby: an open-air route and a parallel semi hypaethral one. The differentiation in the roofing level adds a rhythm to the structure and stresses the grid.

Aim of the project The project’s aim is the acquaintance with subjects that refer to great-scale interven-tions in the urban tissue. The design goal is the incorporation of new land uses in the study area, in the context of a wide reforma-tion of the functional and morphological elements which constitute the present character and the image of the region. The studied area is located in Rizoupoli, east of Irakliou avenue, adjacent to the Perissos urban railway station.

MUSIC SCHOOLMUSIC SCHOOLAthens_Greece_ 2005-2006Model & DesignT. Chatzi Rodopoulou, M. Theodorou Aim of the project

The aim of the project is the design of a Music high-school in the former industrial area of Nea Ionia. The complex consists of three buildings: The main one which houses the regular curriculum and the music classes, the secondary one which houses the school amphitheatre and the library and the triangular one which houses the administration. The basic element of the design is the unfolding red wall that serves several functions; it organizes the movement in the ground and first floor; it acts as a limit and as a link between the buildings while emphasising the dynamic character of the complex. The open space of the school has been carefully designed offering a wide variety of outdoor spaces with different qualities. The size, the level, the effect of the vegetation, the light and the relation with the main volumes were some of the elements that played a crucial role into the formation of the school yard.

CLIMBING CENTRECLIMBING CENTRETithorea_Greece_ 2009-2010Model_T. Chatzi Rodopoulou Design_M.Theodorou

Aim of the project

The aim of the project is the design of a climbing centre at Tithorea village in Parnassos mountain. The complex consists of three buildings that house a mountain refuge, a café - restaurant and a climbing centre. The basic goal of the project is the integration of the complex to its context. The prismatic volumes follow the ground geometry. The volumes’ geometry results from a combination of unfold-ing wooden and metal surfaces.
