Fundraising: Portland Parks Foundation
GOAL: $10,000 as a Metro through bag donations and 5% days within 1 year
Where is the money going?: The funds raised for the Portland Parks Foundation are being earmarked for the community garden program run by the Portland Parks and Rec department. As an effort to help reduce food insecurity, and bring healthy
food to our communities we are providing Whole Foods Market garden scholarships to low income families.
Families are able to use this for the cost of their plots, as well as supplies needed to maintain the gardens.
Oliver Parklane Community Garden: Below is one of two gardens that our funds have helped provide. The
money is going towards compost and so that the kind and grateful community members are able to have a
plot to grow their produce in. It was amazing to meet all of them, and see what they have done so far this
year. Trust me they are way ahead of me as far as gardening! Look at all those GREENS!!
