Existing pedestrian flows extend from the surrounding urban web to the redeveloping area to create a new grid, that will be used in three differ-ent scales, forming new open spaces. The materials define the subregion’s particularities. Specially modulated spaces are designed, sheltered or not, to accommodate any entertaining, athletic or other activities. Hypsometric differences allow the user to enjoy the sea view from each point of the redeveloping area. The area has been designed to be as easy as possible for use by people with disabilities.

Urban Study of the General Development Plan of Municipality of Volos
Existing situation’s analysis indicates a spatial approach of the municipality, its devel-opment profile, spacial and environmental data, productive activities (level of disper-sion of rural area), industrial zones, town planning and evaluating existing situation, prospects and general guidelines. The proposal presents three alternative scenarios, including fundamentals, the suitable scenario is chosen and analyzed. The final draft includes the spatial organization plan of human activities and land use, the proposed
urban infrastructure, actions for environ-mental protection, the urban development model of the Munici-pality and the residen-tial receptors’ spatial characteristics (build-ing height, land cover, building factor).

Spatial Regional Plan of Thessaly
In the analysis, the study refers to the region’s spatial integration at the wide area, the develop-ment and spatial planning, evaluates current situation, prospects and the impact of the former spatial policies applied.
Land uses, either as a result of an organized spatial plan or as an outcome of undefined
activities, are in direct interaction and develop relations between them.

Guidelines aim, first of all, to undertake measures for the protection of natural environment. A wider environmental net-work connects the most important areas of environmental value and outlines the inter-relations with relevant neighboring areas. The network includes pockets located in the coastal front, where intense pressure is indicated because of touristic activities.
A sustainable management of natural resources and development of rural area, is achieved through a proper exploitation of natural resources, as a result of developing alternative tourism activities, environmen-tally friendly, for the benefit of local com-munities.

The criminal predisposition is a result of observation and analysis of nine variables related to marital status, labour market and wider socio-economic indicators, of E.U. countries’ population. It has to be mentioned that there is not any functional relation between the ex-ported indicator of criminal predisposition and the primary variables. The projection system for imaging the European continent is Lambert Conformal Conic.

Demografic Profile Comparison Between Kapodistrian and Kallikratian MunicipalitiesSpatial Dimensions of Demographic Phenomena / group project / 2011(spatial scale 1:5,000,000 - 1:1,000,000)

In the first section of the study, basic demographic indicators between two spatial levels, Kapodistrian and Kallikratian Municipalities, are compared (“Kallikrates” lim-its municipalities from 1024 to 325). The study reffers to all Municipalities of Greece, based on 2001 General Census’ data.
In the second section, the concepts of legal, actual and permanent population are analyzed, the relations between real and permanent population of municipalities are
examined and indicators are proposed based on the analysis of the three polulation types, as population sets.

Analysis of Residence Mobility at Perfecture Level (1995-2001)Location-Allocation of Spatial Functions / group project / 2011Spatial analysis (scale 1:5,000,000)
1 map - probability of movement of Thessaloniki’s residents to other prefectures of Greece (Huff Model)
1
In the study, are presented in a series of maps the absolute sizes of mobility (incoming and outgoing population) at pre-fecture level, the percentages on the total internal movement (country level), the location quotient of incoming population for residence per prefecture and the probability of a resident from the prefectures of Attica (A1 Athens) and Thessaloniki to move to other prefectures, according to Huff Model.
It has to be mentioned that the prefecture of Attica is divided into four districts, for the best understanding of the phe-nomenon, due to the high concentration of residents in this prefecture.
The largest movement is observed in prefectures around the two major urban centers of the country and the
number of incoming population to Thessaloniki is larger than the number of outgoing population on
the same prefecture, in contrast to prefecture of Athens A1 in Attica.

Residence is the city main building use and apart from labor location, all decisions made are related to the residence position. Almost every citizen’s movement has a direction from and to the house location. As residence plays a central role in citizens’ every life, any user activ-
ity or choice is connected with the distance from residence location or best expressed with its time-distance.
The study deals with spatial analysis of land uses in the city and attempts to approach the issue of “suitable locations for residence in the city”, through a multicriteria weighted analysis in urban space. This methodology is based on an analysis of city uses and on the definition of rela-tions among themselves and with the resident-user.
Basic parametres of methodology are the categorization of land uses and the time-dis-tance function. In this study is presented the creation of a combined analysis model, that aims to answer the question of the most suitable areas for residence, depending on the demands of the user. The model was applied in the area of the Municipality of Kalamaria, in Thessaloniki.

Spatial analysis of land use is not an one-dimensional process. The urban fabric is part of the “socio-economic superstructure” which is related to the dominant mode of production and spatial planning or best expressed to the dominant political system.
Citizen develops relations with building uses and functions in the city, interacts with them and is being affected on his everyday life. Relations could be either attractive or repulsive or even indifferent, in a higher or lower degree. As a result, time-distance from land use is a basic factor for choosing the most suit-
able location for residence in the city.
In the study, the research for the suitable location for residence is determined to a satisfactory degree, as the final image does not lead to an absolute solution but refers to a set of responses across the study area. In this way, could be easily made a comparison be-tween different spatial sectors (neighborhoods), in the fulfillment of the criteria. Rating study area, as to the suitability for housing, in the scale of 0 to 100 ranks all results in probable and less probable solutions, in or-der to become the result of spatial analysis of uses best understood. Using this method, imaging of intermedi-ate solutions exports a different result compared to the classification values.

The results of the analysis model are proved satisfactory to certain extend. Nevertheless, there are prospects of further improvement of the model, by introduc-ing and adopting new criteria to the analysis, that are not included in the spatial analysis of uses. A number of these factors are enumerated and described in this study.
In the following series of images is determined the area of preference for residence per age group. Model results are based on objective criteria, in other words the sample results for the ideal residence location, determine three different spatial units in the study area. According to the current general development plan of the municipality, residence is a use allowed for the spatial units mentioned. The neighborhoods chosen above are characterized by completeness of parks, green spaces, cultural entertainment facilities and a satisfactory level of urban transportation service, therefore the selection of these areas is not random but fully con-firmed.
