About MePast: I am a graduate from Missouri State University. I have earned a Bachelors of Science, with a major in Fashion Merchandising and a minor in Marketing. After college, I began managing a Claire’s Boutique in St. Louis, Missouri. During my time as manager, I received great achievement by increasing in sales, receiving elite shrink results, and training members of staff to move up within the company.

Present: I am currently living in the greater Chicago area working at Claire’s Corporate as a In-Store Presentation Coordinator. I am apart of a team that designs the setup and look of Claire’s stores. I look at everything I do in life as a learning experience.

Future: I plan on continuing to grow and prosper. Try to be a better person each and everyday, to improve my flaws and my strengths. To continue to take advantage of every opportunity that comes my way. I wanted to surround myself with other positive people and never lose my way.

Internship

Internship at Anonymous Showroom in New York City. Anonymous is a multi-line showroom in the heart of the Fashion District, supplying lines such as Kay Celine, Sienna Rose and Love Amour. There I prepared and gave buying presentations and worked closely with buyers and vendors. While I was interning I trained two French interns as well. Living and working in New York City was a great experience.

Fashion Show Production

Class Description: An experimental based fashion experience that provides opportunities to develop various forms of fashion production and promotion.

The objective was to build to Spring Fashion Show from the ground up. Dividing the class into small groups to rise money, gather ideas, find models and promote the show. Being apart of Modeling Committee our biggest responsibilities were to arranging and promoting Model Calls, teach the models to walk properly down the runway and schedule for hair and make up for the day of the show. Not only did I assisted with the production of the show I modeled as well.

Visual Merchandising

Class Description: Visual Merchandising for the fashion industry is explored. Students will be exposed to background lighting, styling, visual placement, display focal points, along with photography perspectives to include catalog, magazine, and ad layouts.

The color theme is gold and a winter white. There are small presents displayed with a globe vase that has been decorated with snow flakes and contains ordainments.

The objective was to set up a table display for the holiday season. This table actually sold two days after the display was set up.

The objective to the second project was to create a miniature display case containing all sustainable materials. The theme of this case is New York City Shoes. Each shoe was once worn then recreated to give it a different look. The display case itself were scraps of plastic put together to form a case. Each shoe represents New York City: Taxis, Central Park, New York Times and the Statue of Liberty.

Historical Costume

Class Description: The study of apparel and fashion accessories from the beginning of time to the present. And analysis of global culture forces that parallel social, economic, political and technological influences on fashion trends will be examined to determine impact.

The contemporary garment mimics the Late Middle Ages dress because of the off the shoulder sleeves. Also, both garments have a narrow silhouette that has a slightly longer in

the back.

Both the contemporary gown and the historical dress from The Directoire Period are similar due to the ruffles and off the shoulder sleeves.

The Contemporary garment relates to the dress from The Romantic Period because both gowns contain a belt creating a higher waistline as well as a low neckline. Also, they are both made of a sheer material allowing the dress to flow.

Class Description: Direct application of building a product line from specifications and sample development though the production process and distribution channels.

An entire product line was created starting with a Japanese Street Fashion as the inspiration, targeting children, creating a mood, color pallet, fabrications, specification sheets and sketches for each of the four seasons. As well as figuring a price point, putting together a production calendar and distribution.

A contest for this class was to created and designed a hat for the Final Four Basketball. We worked with The Game so the hat required their logo, the Final Four logo and the College logo. The hat chosen would have been produced for 2008 College Basketball Champions.

Class Description: Overview of the global Fashion Industry from textile production to the retail level. Career options in the fashion industry are highlighted.

Tea Party: This is an inspiration board that is targeted to young girls. The colors are softer and fabric includes satin and sheer materials.

Play Time: This is an inspiration board that is targeted towards young boys and girls. It is a fun and colorful line of clothing. Fabrics include cotton and cotton blends.

^^This is a magazine spread created to reach those college ladies that are going on spring break on a budget. Provided are several ways to mix and match your outfits. As well as where to purchase affordable swim suits and those very need accessories.

Class Description: An examination of the design, manufacture and marketing of products in today's global economy.

^^ Color Wheel is designed to show all the visible colors. Complementary colors are opposite each other, with secondary colors and so fall between primary colors.

I created and designed a product to be sold to tween which range from 8-13 years of age. The product are a pair of jean capris that will be sold at Limited Too. vv

Fashion Competitions

Missouri State University hosted a Design Showcase where all Visual Merchandising and Interior Design students were invited to enter a sustainable presentation. Shoes that represent New York City such as the Statue of Liberty, New York Times, Central Park and Taxi Cabs. Everything used to make the finished products were reused, recycled, and/or nontoxic to make this project eco friendly.

Business Description:Modish is a boutique and salon combined. This is a one stop shop for those fashion forward and sophisticated women. And a life changing experience for those women that are not fashion forward but want to take a step to becoming a new and improved person. We offer our expertise on fashion, hair and cosmetics. We guaranty that you will walk out of Modish with your head high and more confident in your self and you appearance then when you walked in. It is our goal to make everyone feel better about the way they look on the outside and as a result feeling more confident about the person they are on the inside.Assortment:On the boutique side we have a missy fit that ranges from XS-XL or size 2-10. We offer a variety of tops, bottoms, dresses and accessories. We offer great customer service and advice on what to wear. We offer women a broad collection of apparel and accessories to meet her needs for sophisticated casual and daytime sportswear to eveningwear. The sportswear collection embodies a mix of lifestyle separates for both day and evening. Our dress collection includes pieces for day and evening and is an important destination for holidays, proms, or special events.And on the salon side we offer hair cut, color and style. We sell a small section of hair products such as hair spray, shampoo and conditioner. All of our stylist are professionally trained and certified. Our makeup artist is a Mary Kay representative that is very knowledgeable on cosmetics and facial sets. We sell the Mary Kay product including the cleansers and facial sets and the cosmetics. Our makeup artist will work with you on which products work best with your complexion and skin type as well as showing how to apply and proper proportions. We have one nail technician which is also certified and offers who works with the latest tools and chemicals to improve the appearance and condition of clients' nails. Nail technicians use their creativity and experience to make unique nail designs. Our nail technician also advises clients about aftercare, and recommends nail care products.Customer Service Each member of our staff is very helpful and wants to find success in helping every customer find what they are looking for. When a guest enters either our boutique or salon they will be greeted and offered a drink. We have a selection of coffee, water, soda, or wine that we will offer every guest to make them feel more relaxed while they spend their precious time in Modish. (They wine will only be offered to guest that are of legal drinking age and are going to spend a significant amount of time in the store.) It is our job to make every new guest become an everyday guest. Our main objective of customer service is to give professional advice and tips on how to look your very best. When a guest is looking for something to wear our staff will take as much time needed to assist the guest and find the perfect outfit. When a guest comes into our salon our stylists will provide they expertise on what hair style will look best on each individual by using the latest techniques. Our make artist will show our guest which Mary Kay products to use based on the guest‘s profile sheet. Our nails technicians will provide improve the appearance and condition of our guest’s nails.
