The existing informal economy of second-hand cars can be boosted and formalized by providing a “car workshop” and a weekly car market in addition to the existing market. furthermore vocational education will be occurring during the workshops, thereby market and schools will be meeting one another. The superposition of the ferraris map and current flanders shows an evolution from a plurality of cores to an urban field, resulting in the current ambiguous spatial structure. Morfologie

Doordat Vlaanderen een combinatie van een polycentrische structuur en een stedelijk veld is, is de Vlaamse ruimte zeer gelaagd en heterogeen, een combinatie van verspreide bebouwing en kernen. Op vlak van de nabijheid en de complementariteit tussen kernen en open ruimten kunnen grofweg drie zones worden onderscheiden. De grenzen tussen deze zones zijn vaag, de ene zone loopt over in de andere. Elke zone wordt gekarakteriseerd door een specifieke verhouding tussen haar kernen, en zal bijgevolg een mogelijke andere vorm van polycentrisme vereisen • Zone 1: In het westen van Vlaanderen liggen de belangrijke centra ongeveer 40 à 50 km uit elkaar, de secondaire centra liggen op 10 km, kleinere kernen liggen op 5 km. • Zone 2: Centraal in Vlaanderen liggen belangrijke centra op minder dan 25 km van elkaar , de kleinste verstedelijkte gebieden liggen amper op 2-3 km van elkaar. • Zone 3: In het oosten zijn er slechts twee belangrijke kernen Hasselt- Genk, een bipool die op 60 km van Brussel ligt en eerder kan aansluiten bij Maastricht, 30 km verder.

Een ruimtelijk beleid moet bijgzevolg worden afgestemd op de gelaagdheid van de Vlaamse ruimte en zal resulteren in een complexe toekomstige ruimtelijke structuur. Het is niet langer houdbaar om homogene oplossingen uit te werken voor de hele Vlaamse ruimte. Zo zal de manier waarop de verwachte aangroei van één miljoen inwoners ruimtelijk wordt opgevangen niet op dezelfde manier gebeuren in heel Vlaanderen. Het zal een complexe combinatie zijn van verschillende scenario’s afhankelijk van de bestaande ruimte.
