OBJECTS COMPOSED BY WORDS 2010 research on the relation between objects ~ words
“Objects Composed By Words” brings a network of objects based on their names, these names consist of different words trough different languages.
Words are mainly chosen by its form, function and sometimes by the meaning of the object. In this way, objects can be related to other objects based on their name. The book visualises this research on the relation between objects. The second part of the work is formed by a series of objects resulting from this research.

WORDS ASSEMBLED BY OBJECTS 2010 physical objects
“Words assembled by objects” brings objects together that represent a word or an object name.
The assembled object makes you think in a different way about an existing word. The appearance of the object resembles the meaning of the word,it makes a statement by becoming a different object or even a non-existing one.

OBJECTBODIES 2011 research on the relation between object and body
This project is focusing on the relation between object and body.Searching for a perspective on this relation;one thing I have noticed is that objects are easily related to the hands. Another remarkable observation is that most objects are often more ‘waiting to be used’ than ‘being used’, and that is what makes the relation between object and body so valuable.
“ObjectBodies” visually explores and substantiates the ideas behind the “BodyObjects”.

OBJECT IDENTITIES 2012 detail image of panels
Object families frames similar products within the theme of ‘Object Identities’. The objects are exposed and then stripped of their identity, thus raising questions such as: what is the relation amongst each other and what defines their identity?

A BRILLIANT CUT 2014 confrontation between facetted stones and knifes
The similarities in both form and structure of flint knifes and facetted stones, intrigued me to confront knifes with (gem)stones. In addi-tion they are both primitive objects that never became obsolete. Knifes as well as gemstones are symbols of status with a layered and deeper significance/meaning; both have shed blood.
The most known and typical form of a diamond is the ‘brilliant cut’. It’s the best form to display the rock in its ultimate magnificence.
The word ‘cut’ can be used in function of grinding the stone, but it can also refer to a knife. Although ‘brilliant’ can describe a shape defined by facets, it can also be used to indicate something wonderful. ‘A brilliant cut’ can be interpreted in many ways: a genius shape, a marvellous thing, an important discovery, a piece of art, a striking selection, a magnificent story, a title of book … The combination of these words brings concepts as beauty and function together; beauty becomes function and function becomes beauty.
