Lookout Tower 2007consultant: Tamás Nagy, Zoltán Szabósite: Alsószölnök

The plan of the Lookout is one of the stops of the educational path in Alsószölnök. The site is on the top of a grape hill. It was declared in the designed program that the lookout tower should be built of wood and it should have the function of a fence as well because of its situa-tion on the area. As a supplement it was also asked that it might offer shade for the visitors.

Chapel 2008 consultant: István Janáky, András Gödesite: Bence Mountain

The site of the project is the Bence Mountain located beside Lake Velence. It was declared in the project that the plan should be a sacred building but its ma-terial was not given. My plan is an open and closed chapel, the layout is cross shaped and its material is gypsum. The natural and terrain characteristics of the site had an important role during the planning period.

Mangalica farm 2012consultant: Gábor Turányi, András Göde, Balázs Mariánteam: Tamás Butora, Dávid Kiss, Mátyás Skardelli, Ágnes Tőrössite: Kisvejke

One of the possibilities of springing out from deep poverty is developing the breeding of animals in Kisvejke. They have al-ready been breeding pigs in the area of „Budavár” but very irregularly. Our plan was to help them create a strong com-munity breeding „ mangalica” pigs ( an ancient Hungarian species). The site of the plan was on the northern slopes near-by and according to our plans we created an area apt for breeding and feeding. It would function on its own with the attention of the community. The mangalica pigs are bred in a half nomade way, during the fattening period they don’t need too much attention, they are freely kept outdoors, loo-king for their own food. The only enemy is the wind and rain thus they only need a shelter. During the period of procrea-tion a more complex place is needed, a warmer and clo-sed area. The building has to offer place for the drying of the crops they are fed with. 20-25 pigs can be kept in the buil-ding at present but the plan can be developed with time.

Downtown Climbing Club 2014consultant: István Ferenczsite: Budapest

Climbers are basically very close to Nature. This is a popular sport for clim-bing lonely rocks, high cliffs and arches over wide bays. Those who spend their lives in cities bacause of their work and homes, long for places where they can live for their passion. The downtown climbing club offers opportu-nity for them with this project. The site is a special one in Nagymező Street in an empty site beside a characteristically built brick building designed by Dezső Hoffmann in 1914. It was a basic question how to find a way so that both function and building should fit into the material of the city that the building and its function should be a natural element of the XXI century. The mass of the building containng the climbing area appears naturally among the buildings, showing with its appearance the extreme function of its inner spa-ce. The mass can be totally walked around. It does not touch the other buidings. Those who walk around can see its slim concrete mass. In the back part of the site we can find the dressing rooms and water blocks together with the doctor’s room. There is a lift for those who ocassionally get bruised. The staircase ends on the top of the building with a coffee bar which gives place for those who are members of the club but it can also be used by passerbuys entering from the reception. The buiding differs in details and mass bacause of the special form of the buil-ding, but between the building and the firewall the space makes us remem-ber the inner courts and the scale of the characteristic neighbouring building. The character of this fitting in is much stronger and also closer to the functi-on of the building than any other historic architectural element fakely used.

Puskás Ferenc Stadium 2012-leading architect: György Skardellistaff: Dániel Farkas, András Borbély, László Csizy, Bálint Kelemen, Dávid Petri, Viktória Weimper, Miklós Vannay, Éva Sára Varga, Tibor Molnár, Mátyás Skardellisite: Budapest

The original stadium was built in 1953. The building due to its quality beca-me an important landmark of the city during the last almost six decades. The Stadium-Dromos-Arena axis is an important city structural scheme whi-ch was promptly healed by the government of the time by building the Budapest Arena after the burnt down Sport gymnasium at the end of the XX. century. When talking about continuing of values it is not only buil-ding in the characteristic elements into the new building but also continu-ing the space and mass connection which became an important archi-tectural fingerprint of the city not only of István mező where it is located. The basic idea of the “stadium in the stadium” concept is to keep this structure. The scaffolds which were functioning well before due to the altered conditions are out of fashion nowadays so they will be demolis-hed. On the other hand the basic characteristic elements, 18 staircase towers and the tower will continue. With the mirroring of the staircase to-wers on the western part, on the eastern side between the two arches the football field will be built in with the scaffolds. In the northern and southern end of the stadium apart from the basic function of a stadium there will be other functions like table tennis, fencing, wrestling, judo, box, and fitness rooms and beside all these a sport diagnostic centre helping the medical care of the players. On the two upper levels of the const-ruction there is a hotel and an office. The bigger part of them looks on to the outer part and the other onto the football field. This offers a spe-cial taste for the hotel rooms and the offices and also for the panorama running tracks which are constructed under the roof and can be used by anyone in the city. This is how this special stadium will come true, a real multifunctional building with the mingling of the old and the new.
