About me

I am Chan Chui Ling, people called me Elaine. I am a pure girl, who likes laughing, thinking, playing and helping. When I was young, I lived in ShenZhen with my mother and sister. I am still a little girl to think all about my future. Now,I can see the car speeding on the road or people who are busy step and so on. My life is very simple like studying, growing up, working or chatting. I can see my life is very simple and uncomplicated. But I am different from others as I am a Christian. Church life is my other family. They always bring me happiness and warmth. Before I was a Christian, I didn’t know what love was. But now, I feel the love from Jesus and I get to hope and be positive for my life. Now I am starting to be speed up my journey.

I am interested in many things. In primary shcool, I was Melodica team’s leader. I like all the team members corporate to deduce the melody. Luckily, our team became the champion in my last year. I like the music to bring people relaxation. Mostly, I like Japanese and Taiwanese pop music. Because the singers have more ideas and heart in their music. For example, May Day a group from Taiwan. Their song lyrics are exquisite and to encourage our life. It inspire my mind.

I am a curious girl. I am interested to learning many things. I had learnt guitar and Japanese. I think it can substantial and find myself in here. But I need to continue my learning life to expand my view. Moreover, I had a good experience to visit the people in need. I was a volunteer to visit Szechwan children. I was lucky because I have family, friends and so on. I want to visit more countries to help people and broaden my horizons. I hope I can learn what I need and what I want and who am I.

I want to share my design passion, and to make a positive impact on people by carrying the life values and faith through my design works to change people’s spiritual life. I want to bring people the gospel of Jesus Christ through my designs, so that people can have a peaceful and fruitful life.I believe I possess the essential skills and qualities to be qualified for my future.

Start nowHere I will show what I have done and

give an idea of what I want to do in the future.

Re: Business Letter Assignment

Dear Miss Hui:

This is a template for a business letter in the full block style. In the first paragraph, you introduce yourself to the recipient. Since it is a business letter, we can assume that the receiver of the letter either does not know you or needs to be reminded who you are. Briefly give the reason for writing this letter.

In the second and third paragraphs, you fill out the information regarding your request or response to a previous letter, phone call or other correspondence. Make sure that your tone is professional and polite.

Notice that in the full block style all the paragraphs are aligned left and there is one space between each component and paragraph. Remember to change your spell check to English. The red lines are spelling mistakes and the green lines are suggestions for grammar revisions. Use your discretion here. The suggestions are not always correct. It depends on your intended meaning. Click on these lines to make corrections.

In the closing paragraph, politely tell the person the actions you expect them to do after reading the letter, and give information for how you wish to be contacted. If you are asking for a favour, thank the recipient in advance.

Yours Sincerely,

Mira ChanAromatherapist

Operating Activities

Despite a lower operating profit in the current year, our operating cash infl ows remain strong and only decreased by 4.7% to HK$14.5 billion.

A Broader Perspective Operating

Financial ratio analysis is a powerful tool to understand financial statements. There are many kinds of f inancial ratios used to interpret the financial performance and position of a company. Each ratio has its specific purpose and is derived from a specific formula. Here, we look at the financial ratios of the Group from three different perspectives like: Performance, Financial Health and the Investors’ Return.

As a power company, the ability to generate revenue links closely with the quantity and quality of fixed assets own operated by the Group. In particular, our SoC business in Hong Kong is strongly asset-based. Despite the large capital expenditure in Hong Kong and overseas during the past five years, our fixed assets turnover ratio is around 50% or higher. This demonstrates an sensible capital expenditure planning and efficient use of our fixed assets.

The build-up of translation reserves (which are not included in earnings) from our overseas operations, it is especially Australia and India, has adverse ly affected the return on equity in the past years. This effect is exacerbated by the lower SoC permitted return in the current year. Nevertheless, the average return of the 17% (excluding the 2005 one-o f f Aus t ra l i an tax consolidation benefi t of HK$2billion) is still satisfactory compared with the current low interest. We use debt to finance the Group’s expansion and how to development in accordance with the prudent financial management policy. During the past five years, the total debt to total capital ratio remained stable between 29% and 37%, whilst the net debt to total capital ratio was comparable 28% - 35%.

Senior Management – Principles of Remuneration

For the purposes of this Sect ion, S e n i o r M a n a g e m e n t m e a n s t h e managers whose details. In determining remuneration of members of Senior Management, the remuneration data of the comparable positions in the market, including the local and regional companies of the comparable size, complexity and the business scope, are referenced. This is consistent with our remuneration policy to align with panies with the whom CLP competes for human resources. Achievement of performance plays a significant part in individual rewards as part of our policy to attract, motivate and retain high performing individuals. The remuneration policies applied to Senior Management, including the levels of performance bonus, are subject to the approval of the Human Resources and Remuneration Committee. No members of Senior Management and serve on the Committee. And the four components o f r emune ra t i on o f members o f Senior Management are explained below, including the proportion of total remuneration which each component represented in both 2008 and 2009.

Chinese Mainland The reduced earnings from generating facilities in Chinese mainland serving Hong Kong were mainly due to lower earnings of GNPJVC because of lower shareholders’ funds and the write-back of provision of HK$76 million for dividend withholding tax in 2008. We expect these generating assets how to maintain stable operations and performance. The sharp rise in earnings from other power projects in Chinese mainland came mainly from Fangchenggang (2009: HK$238 million; 2008: loss of HK$29 million) as a result of higher generation output in the second half of 2009. Our Chinese mainland projects also benefi ted from the full year effect of tariff increases in July / August 2008. The performance of wind projects has improved owing to the earnings contributed by the newly acquired projects from Roaring 40s. Electricity demand and coal prices are diffi cult to predict and will shape the performance of our Chinese mainland assets in 2010.

Australia Despite the lower average exchange rate of the Australian dollar (6.8%), earnings from Austral ia rose as a result of the increase in electricity retai l and gas gross margins and higher generation output from the Ya l lou rn power s ta t ion . Desp i te continued improvement in the financial performance, our Australia business faces uncer ta in ty in the fo rm o f possible legislation for Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS). This casts a shadow over TRUenergy’s future outlook. The impairment implications of the CPRS are discussed more thoroughly on page 7 Financial Review.

India

GPEC continued to operate reliably and made a steady profit contribution to the Group. Non-operating items included a net exchange gain for Jhajjar’s foreign currency forward contracts, partially offset by the adverse impact of the lower average exchange rate of the Indian rupee (10.6%) and the pre-operating expenses incurred for Jhajjar and the wind projects in India. The fluctuations of the Indian rupee increase the volatility of our Group earnings.

Southeast Asia and Taiwan

The higher energy tariff of (reflecting Taipower’s high prior year average coal cost) at the Ho-Ping and increased generation revenues from the EGCO’s existing and new plants improved our earnings f rom the Southeast Asia and Taiwan signifi cantly. The effect of the high energy tariff of Ho-Ping due to the delay in adjustment.

Non-recurring Items

Other earnings in 2008 included a one-off gain from the write-back of HK$389 million deferred tax due to the reduction in Hong Kong profi ts tax rate. Other income in 2009 represented the gain on the sale of a 60% interest in PGS, the operator of BLCP Power Station in the Thailand. In 2008, other income comprised gains of HK$432 million on the sale of SEAGas and HK$225 million on the deemed disposal from the CSEC Guohua restructuring. Provision for the OneEnergy (HK$131 million) represented a provision for EGCO’s carrying value in OneEnergy given the power purchase agreements of EGCO’s two combined cycle power plants are nearing their ends.

Exploration Overview

Rajasthan and Other Assets

Explora t ion and appra isa l ac t iv i ty in 2007 included the dr i l l ing of 13 wells and acquisition of 1,345 km 2D and 3D and 588 km2D seismic data.Preliminary estimates of successful reserve and resource additions are 6.9 mm boe on the working interest basic and represent approximately the 101% of 2007 working in interest production. Constant re-evaluation of Cairnin the India’s prospects andleads portfolio, plus the addition ofNELP VI blocks, PR OSN -2004/1, has resulted in a cumulative unr isked pros pect ive resource of 1, 033 mmboe, excluding the prospects drilled in 2007. A Oil and gas discoveries were made in the Northern Appraisal Area (NAA) in Rajasthan and in both the Ravva and the Lakshmi fields. The 2008 CLP exploration programme includes the drilling of 15 wells, seven of which will be operated by Cairn India, and the acquisition of three onshore 2D seismic surveys, a 200 km2 onshore 3D survey and two offshore 2surveys comprising 6,150km, all but one of which will be operated by Cairn India. The 2008 seismi acquisition will be position on CairnIndia foranextensive drilling rogramme potential of this part of the frontier lamount of the effort into new exploration. Production has now commenced from the four new infill wells. It has also been forecast that in the medium to long-term demand will remain strong, leading to the possibility of a continued rise in the fuel costs.

Cambay Basin Exploration Block CB/OS-2(Cairn India 40% (Operator)

In the CB /OS -2block theLakshmi, Gauri and CB-X fields are primarily gas in the producing, averaging in the combined 50.0 million dollars standard cubic and feet of gas per day of the salesrate.Oil/condensateproductio averaged 4,407 bopd during 2007 this combines to the total average field production of 12,746 boepd. CB /OS oil production reached a daily record of more than 10,000.

CB-ONN -2002/1(Cairn India 30% (ONGCOperator)

Fol lowing the purchase of a 23.4% interest in the Quezon Power coal-fi red project in The Philippines in late 2008, EGCO completed the purchase of a further 2.6% in early 2009. The project brought immediate accretive earnings to the EGCO group. In December 2009, CLP sold its 50% interest in Power Generation Services Company Limited (PGS) in Thailand to EGCO and the remaining 10% interest to the Banpu Power. PGS is the operator of the BLCP Power coal-fired project, and EGCO had previously purchased its 50% interest in BLCP Power Ltd. EGCO also completed the transfer of the entire Rayong power plant business, previously undertaken by a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, into EGCO. The transfer brought cashflow and tax benefits to the EGCO.

Transmission Projects There are many considerable and many opportunities the available for private sector the investment in transmission infrastructure. China & Light Power have been prepared to bid for such projects provided these project correspond to our investment criteria and including:

• location in reforming states;• favourable project returns;• creditworthy off-takers;• credible partners, especially engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors; • the opportunity to take a majority stake in future

China & Light Power believes, and has expressed its position, that the contractual terms of the PPA need to be a respected and enforced, and that any mid-term changes will affect investor confi dence, especially of overseas investors. In 2009, Taiwan passed the Renewable Energy Act. This provides a mechanism for give to the Government to collect renewable energy levies from conventional fuel power generators to provide subsidies and the higher than tar i ffs for new infrastructure projects. Ho-Ping will be subject to the levy, but the legislation also provided for recovery of the levies through the tariffs charged to the energy users. The Government has also initiated discussions on carbon emission-related taxes, but no details the timeline for implementation are yet available.

Financia l s tatements are the most scorecard of the business and the window on a company’soperations. The Group’s as strategy drives investment decisions and business performance, which then translate into a set numbers in financial statements. This summary shows delivered economic value 2009.

Performance

Asset Management

All major power plants in our campony portfol io achieved good operational performance in 2009:

The coal-fired Ho-Ping project in Taiwan has been affected in past years by plant problems and extreme weather conditions, which have included turbine blade failures, the coal storage domes damaged during strong typhoons, and heavy rain affecting thetransportation of wet coal in the damaged domes. These problems were tackled painstakingly by Ho-Ping, with technical support from CLP, and have been largely resolved with turbine blade replacements and complete rebuilding of stronger coal domes in 2009. In this has enabled Ho-Ping to achieve record operational results for the year in terms of plant availability and generation. Under the PPA with Taipower, Ho-Ping’s annual energy tariff is in adjusted to reflect Taipower’s actual prior year average coal costs. Consequently, Ho-Ping’s 2009 energy tariff refl ected the surge in coal prices sustained by Taipower.

In the CB /OS -2 block the Lakshmi, Gauri and CB-X fields are primarily gas producing, averaging combined 50.0 million standard cubic feet of gas per day(mmscfd) sales rate. oil/condensate production averaged 4,407 bopd during 2007 this combines to total average field production of 12,746 boepd. CB/OS oil production reached a daily record of more than10,000 bopd. In Sept 2007 a drilling campaign began in CB/OS -2 with four well ssuccessfully drilled and completed as well as part of thefurther development of the Lakshmi and Gauri fields. By February 2008, all of these wells have been placed on production. Three well workovers aimed at restoring production in the wells with mechanical problem or the allowing access to other hydrocarbon pools also successfully completed. The oil potential of the Lakshmiand Gauri fields was recognised during their appraisal and development phases, with their several and wells encountering and test oil columns. An appraisal well LA East.

The oil potential of the Lakshmi and Gauri fields was recognised during their appraisa land to developmentes, with several wells encountering and testing oil columns. An appraisal well LA East South-1 was drilled. Which intersected water bearing sands with traces of the oil, was plugged and abandoned. for which wind resource measurement is ongoing now. Moreover, the Group also makes investments and advances to its project entities and receives dividend income from them in return.

The History ofTimes New Roman

However , all the new fonts have been variants of the original New Roman font . Although no longerused by The Times, it is still widelyused for book typography. It is oneof the most successful and ubiquitous typefaces in history.

Times New Roman is a serif typeface commissioned by the British newspaper , The Times , in 1931, designed by Stanley Morison and Victor Lardent at the English branch of Monotype . It was commissioned after Morison had written an article criticizing The Times for being badly printed and typographically behindthe times . The font was supervisedby Stanley Morison and drawn byVictor Lardent , an artist from theadvertising department of The Times.Morison used an older font named Plantin as the basis for his design, but made revisions for legibility and economy of space . As the old type used by the newspaper had been called Times Old Roman , Morison'srevision became Times New Roman. The new typeface made its debut in the 3 October 1932 issue of The Times newspaper, and after one year, the design was released forcommercial sale . The Times stayedwith Times New Roman for 40 years, but new production techniques and the format change frombroadsheet to tabloid in 2004 have caused the newspaper to switch font five times since 1972.

It is a variant designed for printing mathematical formula , using the 4-line system for mathematics developed by Monotype in 1957. Developed from Times New Roman Series 327 , it contained many new glyphs that were drawn to reduce the need for kerning and enable, where appropriate , the reuse of matrices for both superior and inferior characters.Greek characters, operators, and other mathematical symbols previously cut for otherseries were added to Series 569 and redrawn to harmonize with its overall design. New matrices were also made for oversized fence characters (brackets , parentheses, etc.) in sizes up to 72 point . The

italic glyphs has as reduced slantof 12° to minimize the need for kerning. The family includesGreek, fraktur, and script alphabets; alternate versions of many glyphs; numerous versions with attached accent marks or maths symbols; and a vast selection of maths symbols . Originally between 700 and 800 different matrices were prepared for the initial release, but by 1971 this number had grown to over 8,000 , with up to five new matrices still being added each week.

Monotype/Linotype retail versionsIncludes Times New Roman(roman bold), Times New Roman Medium (roman, bold), Time New Roman Semi Bold (roman, bold), Times New Roman Bold (roman, bold), Times New Roman Extra Bold, Times New Roman PS (roman, bold, italics), Times New Roman Condensed (roman, bold, italic ), Times New Roman Small Text (roman, bold, italic), Times New Seven (roman, bold, italics).

Times 4-line Mathematics Series 569

Linotype - Newspaper - types and several Monotype-types , but soon they concentrated on a »modern« Monotype-Plantin with more sharpserifs. According to Morison's ownnotes , the Times finally bases on Robert Granjon's Gros Cicero , cut in Paris about 1569.

Stanley Morison (1889–1967) was, both in designing types and in studying their history , a pushing force , especially during the moved time between the wars . His publications and his authority inspired type-artists like Eric Gill and Jan van Krimpen . But he is most popular for initiating some historical redesigns of types that were published by Monotype. AfterMorison did privately criticize the typography of the Times , they asked him for propositions to improve it. They started trials with

Stanley Morison

Victor Lardent (1905 - 1968 ) , adesigner of the Times, needed only two months to draw and correct the typeface for the Monotype .Monotype put on the rework during the production . Finally , this font-typus was extended to greek , kyrillic , mathematic und phonetic characters , chemical formulas and a wide spectrum of special sorts,so nearly every kind of text could be set.
