“I hate this image of me as a prim edwardian.. ....I want to SHOCK everyone”

Through Young Graduate Enterprise, I formed a vintage gifts and home ware company, with 4 other members.

This became ‘PeachyKeen’.This was an invalubale learning experience and I felt privelidged

to have been part of the making a successful business.

In March 2011, I attended the Northumbria Business Challenge Awards dinner and presentation as part of the PeachyKeen company.

Here, we had the pleasure of being awarded highly commended for our written business plan and won a cash prize of £250. This was an extremely proud moment for the company and we felt fortunate to have

been selected.

As a Front of House intern, the role required greeting and assisting guests and VIP’s to their seats.

The role also required assisting PR teams and media, in preparation before and after shows inc. David Koma and BODYAMR.

As a backstage/dresser intern, I worked as part of a team to help produce various catwalk shows.

During this time I gained an invaluable insight into the exact detailing, and organisation of producing catwalks and exhibitions, learning from professionals, and assisting at shows such as William

Tempest, and A Child Of the Jago.

Working full and part time during the past two years at Monkey clothing, has allowed me to experience various roles within the

retail industry.Primarily hired as a visual merchandiser and sales assistant, my role involved merchandising stock within the store and in store

windows.Over time, I gained further responsibility, including duties such as receiving, checking and entering stock deliveries and dealing

with web transactions concerning the online store.I had the pleasure of accompanying the head buyer on the S/S 11

buying trip, securing a first account with TOMS footwear.
