Tiny homes embody the principles of green design just by nature of existing; they take up less space, are smaller, and more efficient. Tiny homes in most cases are no more efficient than their larger counterparts, however, being smaller, fewer resources ARE required to build, and maintain them. The most interesting THING ABOUT tiny homes, to me, is the creative use of space, FOR both living and storage. With such a small footprint multi-use spaces become paramount, and storage becomes a fantastic puzzle. Having a kitchen that is also the dining and living space is not a foreign concept; the scale of the room is what is groundbreaking.

THE MILWAUKEE AREA TECHNICAL COLLEGE IS LOOKING TO UPDATE THE WELCOME CENTER AT ITS SOUTH CAMPUS LOCATED IN OAK CREEK, WISCONSIN. THE WELCOME CENTER IS IN NEED OF REZONING, WITH AN EMPHASIS ON SPACE PLANNING, FLOW, AND EASE OF USE. I WILL ACCOMPLISH THIS THROUGH THE USE OF A NEW OFFICE LAYOUT, NEW WORKSTATIONS, COLOR PALETTE, AND FINISHES. THE SPACE WILL BE CLEAN, MODERN, PROFESSIONAL, WITH A PREMIUM PLACED ON EFFICIENT FLOW.

The Cardonas are looking to renovate their existing kitchen, to allow for more space to eat, cook and entertain, and provide a more updated feel. I will accomplish this with the application of new cabinetry, finishes and fixtures. The design is contemporary with a rustic Tuscan influence in the color palette and finish selection. The space will be warm, inviting, and practical with room for the whole family.
