DRINKIN-AID-E

7

Project Brief:

To design a device for : a severely handicapped (physically impaired child)who has very little control over her hands (almost negligible) and no motor co-ordination, to give her the power to independently do the basic task of drinking water.

Product: Drinkin-aid-e: It is a device which is clamped to the chair and has a water bottle holder, in angle. When the handle is moved up and down, the angle of the bottlecan be adjusted as it rotates around the pivot.

ADVANTAGES:

There is no need of gripping the bottle. She only has to move the handle and ultimately the arm, to adjust the angle of bottle. It can be removed and clamped to any other chair in school or at home. Thus she can do the task of drinking water, independently.

ICE CREAM VENDING CARTS

This concept is inspired from a scoop of ice cream in a cupwith a cherry on top. The service lid gives an impression of a cherry. The bumper which is a seperate roto molded component is used to enhance the appearance of the cart and also for the protection of the freezer against collision, it also provides a seperate area for branding.

This concept conveys the feeling of cleanness, freshness, elegance and reliability through its aesthetics, colour schemeand design.

Colour scheme depends on every brand seperately. Each brand can use its own colour palette to distinguish it from others.

This concept is depicted keeping in mind a colour scheme which would suit the brand Amul, which is determined by the colours - yellow and blue.

Minimal use of M.S framework gives the cart a clean look.

The freezer, utility lid, service lid, freezer’s main lid, ventilation cover and bumber are all seperate componentsmanufactured by the process of roto molding and so they canbe of different colours. The material of these rotomolded components will be LLDPE(linear low density poly ethylene) with PU foaming. These materials make the structure light weight without compromis-ing on strength.

The design incorporates securing locks to secure the ice creams.

Cart holds approx. 800 Frozen Ice Cream Treats.

The highlight of this concept is the rotomolded bumper which is attached to the metal frame work by inserting it in the dep-ression. The bumper enhances the look of the cart and distin-guishes it from the usual other carts. It also has a pocket in which the menu card cn be placed. So that the placement of menu card does not become a problem.
