My name is Kristina. I am 23 Years old. I study Communication Design at the Hochschule Darmstadt.

I love my subject, and I cannot imagine doing anything else. I appreciate good design and when I see nice type, I get that tingling feeling. Concepts and order are what I like about design, but a degree of flair and intuition is what really makes the difference. When i am doing something, I want to make it perfect, no matter what it concerns. I am ambitious and I want to meet challenges. To challenge something and to do it well is a fantastic feeling, so I always want to do my upmost. I always want to see and experience new things. Standstill is bad, movement and progression is good and to have new experiences means a lot. Design is in a constant change and I want to be prepared, but Design is not everything, life is also great.

APOCALYPTICAL TEXTS – BOOK // 2008

In this book you will find nine

differently layouted and typesetted

apocalyptical texts.

The binding looks raw and unfinished

to emphasise and mirror the theme.

The surface feel of the grey board

and the used look of the title type are

supportive to the whole apocalyptical

and end time subject.

I have mirrored the character and

content of each text with an appropri-

ate typographical design and layout.

Handled were different kinds of texts,

like fiction and nonfiction, as well as

playwrites and and poems.




The Title of this Poster is „Blut und

Blume“, which means Blood and

Flower, this represents the enmity

and friendship of italian mafia clans.

It is an information graphic which

shows the three main alliances, their

relationships and how there are

connections between enemies and

friends at the same.

This is a piece of work about 21

objects which documents them and

their main colours.

This book is divided into 21 chapters,

each chapter represents one object.

It starts with a peephole on the cover,

this is characteristic for the whole

concept, and it is formally based on

a previous information graphic.

Peephole and circle-information-

graphic change their sizes in 21 small

steps and give a constant growing

outlook on the following object.

New forms are created in the view

through the cut out circle on the

information graphic.

This is a homage to three great fonts.

The main aim of this project is to ap-

preciate and have fun with the shapes

of the type.

I created patterns with one letter of

each font.

One characteristic thing of patterns,

the homogeneity, was resolved by

stamping it by hand.

Each T-shirt was printed with metal

type and concluded with a dedication

to the font.





Prediploma

„Blickwinkel“ means angle of view.

The angle of view describes the

perspective on things or their resul-

ting direction. What you would see,

as a viewer of the actual installation,

would be the flipping letters of the

word „Blickwinkel“ on a projection

on 2 square meters.

This work is about 2 square meters.

There are so many things which we

only view from one perspective, for

example there are only a few rare

circumstances where we would look

at a tree from above or see a sofa

from underneath. When watching the

installation the viewer should gain a

greater understanding of changing

perspectives, not only in their enviro-

nment but also in their mind and

discover a whole new perspective on

the world.



Lego vs Playmobil at the design

department in Darmstadt.

The result is clear, Lego is the winner.

It was not expected that Playmobil is

not represented stronger in between

artistic talented people than in bet-

ween others.

This is a free photographic project

about the spread of Lego lovers and

Playmobil fans in my department

in Darmstadt.



Summer homework:

An Alphabet that is based on my

summer 2009.

To construct the alphabet I first

maked the places I had visited over

summer 2009 on a map.

Then I used this framework to create

the letters.




This is a free mapping project based

on the song „Being For The Benefit

of Mr Kite“ from the Beatles.

On a leporello folded book you can

understand the whole length of

the song. The lyrics are marked on

a timeline and are supported by

Illustrations.

The illustrations are based on the

fonts of a poster, by which once John

Lennon was inspired to write „Being

For The Benefit of Mr Kite“.

THE VIEW FROM HERE – POSTER // 2010

The View From Here is a self com-

posed text, which has it’s origin in a

poetry workshop in Manchester.

Everything in this workshop was ins-

pired by cut-up technique, including

the text and the design of the poster.
