PORTAGE COUNTY FAIR ASSOCIATION – AMHERST FAIR 2017 IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

NEW SWINE/SHEEP PENS & SHOW RING

The Amherst Fair Market Animal Committee has decided to fundraise for new swine and sheep pens. The number of 4-H and FFA youth exhibitors at the Amherst Fair has grown in recent years, as well as the number of animals coming to the fair. In addition to needing more pens, the old pens are getting battered, beaten, and unsafe for the animals. The pens will be similar to the wash pens that we purchased last year, except the new pens will be 4’ x 8’. We are looking at purchasing 60-80 pens and a new show ring. We are asking people to sponsor pen(s). The pens are $350/pen. If $350 is too much, you can donate any monetary amount you wish, which will go toward the show ring. Pen sponsors will have their name on a placard attached to the pen gate. Show ring donors will have their name on a donation board for recognition. If you are interested in sponsoring a pen(s) or making a donation toward the show ring, please send in the donation form below or contact any of the Animal Committee members below for more information. Let’s work together as a community to make this project a success for our 4-H & FFA youth, just as we did last year for the new wash pens!

Members: Michael & Debra Helbach (715-572-5951), Bob & Jenny Stuczynski, Dr. Barb Kasprowicz, Bridget Gagas, Lissa & Roy Danforth, Jeff Kaminski, Jeremy & Liz Spoelstra, or Tim Pederson.
