QuickFace makes refacing easy
Every day we’re presented with hundreds of situations whereflanges that need to be refaced are in awkward or even dangerouslocations. Pipes can be located at the top of a refinery installationor miles away from the nearest power line, without room to move.
Now for the first time ever, engineers can rely on all the accuracyand performance of Hydratight’s bigger air and electric poweredtools in a lightweight and extremely portable format. A simple andcost effective solution with hi-tech design, QuickFace turns a twoman operation with heavy equipment, compressors and portablegenerators into a one man job.
Light on weight, not on features
The QuickFace tool itself weighs only15lbs (6.8kg), which means it’s easy tocarry, yet can still reface flange surfaces onpipes from 1in (25.4mm) up to 4in (102mm) withease. As you’d expect from Hydratight, pareddown weight means no loss of performance. Thesystem has interchangeable lead screws thatmake it suitable for resurfacing damaged raised-faceor lens-ring joint flanges to the high safety standards required.
Plus QuickFace operation couldn’t be simpler; after selecting thecorrect lead screw for the operation, the tool body is inserted inthe pipe end and centers itself with adjustable locators to providetruly concentric operation.
The tool arm is then rotated by hand using a worm-gearmechanism to provide a perfect spiral “gramophone” finish. The tool can be adjusted with a calibrated slide to define cut depth and the correct finish.
