Manorhaven Street Festival,October 5
The Village of Manorhaven will hold its annualStreet Festival 11 am - 4 pm on Manorhaven Blvd.between Dunwood and Firwood Roads and in theManorhaven Preserve. Free parking will be avail-able at the Manorhaven Pool. The festival featuresstreet vendors, clowns, a balloon artist, face paint-ing, henna tattoo artist, children’s bouncy, a pet-ting zoo, DJ music, cotton candy, popcorn, Greekfavorites, hot dogs, sausage and peppers, deli-cious foods, drinks, and more!
Chamber of Commerce HonorsSupervisor Kaiman
The Port Washington Chamber of Commerce willhold its annual Installation Dinner on ThursdayOctober 10, at 7 pm at Ayhan’s Fish Kebab. The newco-presidents, officers and board of directors for 2013- 2014 will take the oath of office.
The Chamber will also present Town of NorthHempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman with a Certificateof Appreciation for all the support he has given to theChamber and to the community of Port Washington.

On Saturday October 19,the Great Fall Festival will beheld at the United MethodistChurch from 10 am - 3 pm(rain or shine). There will beplenty to do and see foreveryone - including hayrides, pumpkin and facepainting, and a castlebounce.
There will also be plenty ofitems to purchase - furniture,baked goods, holiday gifts,
kids toys, plants, knick knacks, clothes for kids andadults, household goodies and of course – pumpkins!
This community event is handicap accessible andthere is plenty of parking. The Methodist Church islocated at 35 Middle Neck Rd.

The American Red Cross Blood Drive at the PortWashington Library is sponsored by the PW CrisisRelief Team. All presenting donors are eligible toenter for a chance to win two tickets to Super BowlXLVIII to be held at MetLife Stadium (NJ). All present-ing donors will also receive a red Super CommunityBlood Drive wrist band.

Play Troupe Invites the Community to “Sing For Cecilia”
Port Washington Play Troupe will host“Songs for Cecilia,” an informal churchfundraiser series in the St. Cecilia Room at St.Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 7:30 - 9:30 pmon Oct. 2, Nov. 6 and Dec. 4 (Wednesdayevenings). Anyone from the community iswelcome to come on stage and sing a songfrom the Great American Songbook(Broadway musicals, Hollywood film songs,20th century classics), accompanied on pianoby board member David Barnett.
Voluntary donations will be collected tore-carpet the St. Cecilia Room for thechurch. Participants may bring their ownsheet music or choose from provided musicaltheater songbooks. There will be time forapproximately 20 singers to perform, and theevening will conclude with a group sing-along of a well-known classic (printed lyricsto be provided).

St Stephen’s Episcopal Church Fall Concert
The choir of St Stephen’s Episcopal Church invitesthe Port Washington community to their fall concert.
The free concert will be on Sunday October 6 at4:30, in St Stephen’s church, located across fromthe PW Library on Main St. and Carlton Ave.
Mozart’s Coronation Mass under the direction ofMark van Schenkhof will be featured. Soloists areMaria Whisenand, Soprano; Deborah Fuhrman, alto;David Reck, tenor; and Daniel Klein, bass.
The concert is in remembrance of Walter Carucci,a longtime member of St Stephen’s.
