INTRODUCTION
1
For over twenty years Platt Stone has been
supplying cast stone pool products to projects such as
The Beverly Wilshire & The Penninsula of Beverly
Hills, condominiums and residential pools. We also
manufacture products for building exteriors in cast
stone and EPS cored precast. Contact our estimating
staff if custom designs are required.
Platt Stone products are made from a custom
mixture of Portland cement, polymers, admixtures,
various aggregates and alkali resistant glass fiber to
create an extremely durable manmade stone. In fact, our
products will hold up to the outdoor elements much
better than the majority of natural stones.
We currently offer two different finishes, our sanded
texture which is similar to French Limestone and our
Travertine which looks like authentic stone cut right from
the earth.
The lead time typically varies from 1-8 weeks
depending on order size and mold availability but we do
stock some of the most popular styles and colors. Our
manufacturing facility can be visited by appointment to
see actual products and to pickup color and texture
samples.

NOTES & PAVING
* Platt Stone product should be installed by a qualified masonry or pool contractor.
* Our products should be installed onto a masonry cement or block surface and can be cut with a dry cut diamond blade.
* One coat of penetrating sealer is applied on all of our products to help with installation cleanup.
* An additional coat of sealer is recommend once a year to keep the product looking newer rather than letting the product age.
* Color variations and crazing are inherent to cast stone products and are possible in some pieces.
* Custom bids are available by request.

?Dowels for bottom rail should be a minimum of 18" o/c with a height of 4" and be completely water proofed in.
?Rebar or allthread rods are not provided for installation.
?Top rail sections should be fully mortared in together with 4" connecting dowels.
?End posts are manufactured with a center void which can be filled up with mortar and or a conduit.
?We recommend installing posts every 9 - 18 feet for a better look and to aid in balustrade support.
?Baluster spacing and layout is based on personal preference and local code requirements. The diagram below shows some layout options but the balusters can also be installed at 7-1/4" on center to make the 4" code without adding a rod.

Base
ur Columns have a historically
correct entasis taper and are approximately
1" thick. They are nonstructural units made
in split halves and have a separate base,
shaft and capital. The bottom part of the
shaft can be trimmed to shorten the overall
length. We recommend the columns be
installed around steel posts instead of
wood. Installation instructions are
available upon request.
