TRANSITION TO CPP INSTITUTE
POP QUIZ TIME!
What percentage of our fall 2018 enrollment where transfers?
TRANSITION TO CPP INSTITUTE
The PolyTransfer program exists to ensure a transfer receptive culture by providing resources and programming to connect and support transfer students to achieve their desired
academic, professional and personal goals,
to create a sense of belonging.
“Central to the concept of a Transfer Receptive Culture (TRC) is the belief that students will be successful because they are transfer students. This is in opposition to the belief that they are successful despite being a transfer student.” (Jain, Herrera, Bernal & Solorzano, 2011)

Understanding Transfer Credit• The Transfer Credit Report (TCR) shows transfer coursework and
articulation credit• Transfer coursework must be from a Regionally Accredited
Community College or Four-Year University• California Community College vs. Out-Of-State Institution
• ASSIST, TES• “MU 101” vs. “MU 1010” vs. “TRN MUS-LD” vs. “GE Area C1”
TCR
• Preliminary analysis vs. Full analysis• Official Transcripts ONLY• Limit of 70 Semester units accepted from CCC
• Out-Of-State, UC, or CSU credit is not limited to 70 semester units• Our system automatically prevents CCC units beyond 70 from being included
in the overall units toward the degree (120-150)• Every course content is applied towards degree if applicable (even those
beyond 70 transferrable units)
General Education (GE)• CSU GE Certification
• A CSU Executive Order sets out specific GE areas A through E and the content that must be covered within the specific General Education areas
• GE Certification is done by the California Community College (last one attended)
• Full GE Certification vs. Partial GE Certification
• Completion of all lower-division GE area requirements
• Completion of certain lower-division GE area requirements
