50 - 008Polymeric, Band Shaped Tellurium Cations in the Structuresof the Chloroberyllate Te7[Be2Cl6] and the Chlorobismutate(Te4)(Te10)[Bi4Cl16]. — Black crystals of Te7[Be2Cl6] (I) are pre-pared from Te, TeCl4, and BeCl2 in an eutectic Na2[BeCl4]/ BeCl2 melt at250 ◦C. Needle shaped crystals of (Te4)(Te10)[Bi4Cl16] (II) are obtained fromTe, TeCl4, and BiCl3 in the molar ratio 5:1:2 by chemical vapor transport inthe temperature gradient 150 → 90 ◦C. As revealed by single crystal XRD,(I) crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pnnm with Z = 2 and (II)in the triclinic space group P1 with Z = 2. The structure of (I) consists ofone-dimensional polymeric (Te72+)n cations which form folded bands and ofdiscrete [Be2Cl6]2− anions forming double tetrahedra connected by a commonedge. The structure of (II) contains (Te102+)n and (Te42+)n polymericcations. — (BECK, JOHANNES; FISCHER, ANDREAS; STANKOWSKI,ALEXANDER; Z. Anorg. Allg. Chem. 628 (2002) 11, 2542-2548; Inst.
