Acosonic insulation can be used in ceiling, walls and under the oor. These products are designed for the acoustic insulation of different parts of building and ofce as follows:

a) For Timber Framed walls and mid- oor cavi t ies-here i t reduces airborne sound, impact noise and sound transmission by controlling r esona t i ng no i se i ns i de t he construction cavity.

b) For metal stud wall partitions: As an a c o u s t i c c e i l i n g o v e r l a y i n commercial buildings. It reduces a i r b o r n e s o u n d t r a n s f e r b y controlling resonating noise in the construction cavity increasing the sound transmission loss at all frequencies.

c) For new and existing Commercial Building: It is designed to be layer stacked above partition walls to s i g n i c a n t l y r e d u c e s o u n d transmission through the ceiling cavity.

1) Rw: It is the weighted sound reduction index in Db (decibels) and it descr ibes the a i rborne sound insulation power of a building element. It can apply to walls, ceiling/ oors, doors, or windows. The higher the number, the greater the sound insulating power of the building element.

2) NRC: A material ability to absorb sound is measured by its sound absorption coefcient and is often expressed in terms of a Noise Reduction Coefcients (NRC). The NRC is the arithmetic average of the p r o d u c t s s o u n d a b s o r p t i o n coefcients from 100Hz to 10,000Hz. An NRC of 0.4 means 40% of sound is absorbed by the material.
