ols staan op die laaste uitgawe van die jaar. Toe onsdie droom begin het Mei 2014 het ons nie in onsstoutste verwagtinge gedink dat Pols ooit gaan bereikwat dit bereik het nie.

Dit was nie altyd maan skyn en rose nie, maar oorhoofs was ditdie mees opwindendste tyd van ons lewe.Ek vertel julle later in die tydskrif meer oor ons, waar ons vandaankom en hoe als ontstaan het. Pols is allermins ’n oornag sukses-storie.Nie net staan ons op die einde van die jaar nie, maar ook klopKersfees aan ons deur. Die tyd vir afskakel, familie en samesyn.Vir ander is dit werktyd, want in die vermaaklikheidsbedryf is dievolgende paar maande maar stil wat voorlê. Kersfees is die tyd watjy terug kyk oor die afgelope jaar en jou geestelik voorberei vir dienuwe jaar wat voorlê. Wat wil jy verander in die jaar wat voorlê ofwat gaan jy die nuwe jaar anders doen. Kersfees is die tyd wat onsook ons geloof vier. Wat ’n wonderlike tyd. Dis feestelik, dis liggiesen dis sommer sommige lawwighede.Ek wil uit die diepte van my hart vir een en elk wat die jaar bygedrahet tot ons- op welke wyse ook al, bedank. Soms is dit ’n warmglimlag wat die grootste verskil maak of ‘n groet by ’n funksie, ’nbemoedigende woord of lang drukkie wat jou siel nadertrek. Diesukses van jou mede-kollegas wat uitstyg in die kunste en watwonderlike mooi dinge skep. Dit is waaroor Pols gaan. Om aanmense die platform te skep Janine Snyders

POns het ook bo en behalwe dit, nie ooit gedink dat ons ’n paarmense sou ontmoet wat so daadwerklike verskil in ons lewesou maak in- hetsy ’n positiewe of minder positiewe- lig nie.Pols is die grootste uitdaging wat ons in byna ’n dekade in diebedryf aangepak het, en ongetwyfeld een van die mees onge-looflikste ervarings tot dusvêr. Geen mens kan dink dat lewesoos jy dit ken in ’n paar maande so handomkeer kan verandernie. Ons sin het.

Ons het saam geleer, gedeel en gevorm en ek glo enhoop ons het, nie net ’n verskil in ’n paar mense se lewensgemaak nie, maar ’n hart en siel aangeraak- en julle as dielesers kon, op een wyse of die ander of vereenselwig met’n storie of iemand se storie kon julle moed gee om aan tegaan of om jou droom en passie te volg.

indy Swanepoel vertolk die rol van Mysi Moolman in die film, Ballade vir ’n Enkeling, wat Maart 2015op die silwerskerms te siene sal wees.Sy is die vrou wat elke vrou wil wees. Sy is dieaktrise waarna akteurs opkyk, sy is die hippy met ’nmissie, ’n meermin by hart, sy is ’n rolmodel,vriendin en kollega. Sy is sonder perke en ander sevlerke. Sy is die meisie met die goue hart en diereënboog in ander se smart. Sy is Cindy Swanepoel.Aktrise van formaat met ’n siel vir kunste envermaak. Die is die eksklusiewe, in diepte storie,waar Pols in Cindy se diepste en egste self delf.

Die kalmte spoel oor jou as sy naby is. Sy is ’nhardwerkende individu wat haar kunsvorm ernstigopneem en haar passie vir elke greintjie van die kunsteskemer deur in elke sin, elke beweging en elke daad. Syis hier om te bly en die is maar slegs die begin van meeras ’n dekade se uithou, aanhou en vashou vir Cindy. Vir’n uitdaging skrik sy ook nie. “Ek is glad nie bang omiets nuuts te probeer nie, die is nog altyd alles wat ekwou doen”, sê sy vol selfvertroue. Sy is multi-diversen daar is nie iets wat die talentvolle ster nie kan aanpakmet sukses nie. Van kunsvorms wat wissel van film,teater en skadu teater tot genres soos komedie en drama.Sy sê sy is so divers as gevolg van haar agtergrond inkinder teater. “Alhoewel sommige mense neerkyk opkinder teater- is dit iets waarop ek baie trots is,” vertelsy.Cindy is al meer as 11 jaar ’n vryskut aktrise wat haarhonneursgraad in drama bekom het. “My pad deur aldie bloedsweet en die wonder waarna toe ek op pad is-deur my jare van aktrise wees, het ek ontdek wat suksesvir my is. Sy vertolk die rol van Mysi Moolman. Toe ek Cindy vra hoe dit vir haar wasopstel van so ’n groot film en produksie was sy totaal en al dankbaar vir diegeleentheid in egte Cindy styl.“Dit is ongelooflik om die span te sien, die grimering, hare, die pre-produksie,hoe als bymekaar kom en hoe professioneel als hanteer word. Alhoewel ek alby menige sepies en reekse betrokke was, was die film ’n aanpassing. Dit vatsowat 4 tot 5 ure om een toneel te skiet, want daar is soveel voorbereiding ineen enkele toneel. Mens leer net soveel meer respek vir die span aan. Hullewerk die hardste van almal. Die regisseur was ongelooflik. Mens sal maar nounooit weet hoe goed jy gevaar het tot die premier nie, maar ek kon tenminstetevrede huis toe gegaan het elke dag op stel en goed voel, “ sê sy en glimlagwarm.Teater is haar gunsteling kunsvorm. “Ek het die meeste ondervinding inteater, maar ook moet ek byvoeg dat ek film nou begin verstaan en

dit raak vir my lekker. Daar is nog baie om te leer en daar sal baie wees omnog te leer.” vertel sy. Sy glo dat elke akteur wat sy sout werd is, elkekunsvorm moet kan beoefen en Cindy vind groot bevrediging en genotdaaruit om te leer en te eksperimenteer met die verskillende, diverse en somskomplekse genres in die kunste. “Ek dink ek is die tipe persoon wat verveeldsou raak as ek net een ding moes doen. As ek net film moes doen sou ekteater mis en wedersyds," verklap sy.Ons weet dat Cindy ‘n fenomenale aktrise is en in so te sê- enige karakter kaninklim, maar wie is Cindy Swanepoel as mens- sonder om ’n karakter te wees.Ons het gaan uitvind;Die see, familie, vriende, vakansie, rooiwyn en droëwors maak haar gelukkig.Mense wat ander mense min ag en wat neerkyk op ander maak haar vies. Ditontstel haar as mense nie ander raaksien nie. Dit is in Cindy se boekeongetwyfeld waar dat waar jy jouself in my sien en ek myself in jou, dis daarwaar liefde woon. Al haarmede kollegas praat met die grootste lof van haar. “Ek kan ditnie hanteer as iemand onvoorbereid of onprofessioneel is nie.Berei voor, ken jou woorde en samewerking is belangrik. Asalmal in ’n professionele hoedanigheid saamwerk en glo in dieproduk, kan dit net goed wees. Dit is ook grootliks te danke aanmy agtergrond in kinder teater wat die fondasie van dissiplineneergelê het,” sê sy. Sy glo as mense vir mekaar luister enwanneer ego nie ’n rol speel nie, kan baie vermag word.

Proesstraat was vir Cindy ’n persoonlike uitdaging en loopbaanhoogtepunt terselfdertyd. “Komedie is geen grappie nie,” sê sy allaggend. Cindy noem uit die staanspoor Alby Michaels se naam.“Hy het nog altyd vir my die kans gebied om uitstekende teaterte kon doen wat my uitdaag,” vertel sy. Sy sou sê haar beste enslegste eienskap is die feit dat sy mense kan gelukkig maak, sygee werklik om en sy is hardwerkend, maar belangrikste is diefeit dat sy altyd onthou waarvandaan sy kom. Sy sê selfsug issekerlik een van haar slegste eienskappe. “As ek my eie spasie

nodig het, moet ek dit kan kry. Ek hou van my oefening, slaap enalleentyd en ek sou sê dit is bietjie van ’n slegte eienskap.”

Haar Nuwejaarsvoorneme is om harder te oefen, gesondheid enom mooi na haarself en haar liggaam te kyk. Sy wil meer gee in

die nuwe jaar.Almal wat Cindy goed genoeg ken sal weet dat sy die tipe mens

is wat glo in die goed, die gesegde agterop ’n suikersakkielees, ons laat glo dat ons swerwers is wat na nuwe sleutelssoek en sy is die mens wat nie net sterk glo in haar basiese

beginsels nie, maar ook wat gee, liefde sprei en lig bied waardaar ’n donker hoekie is.

Ek het Cindy gevra om ter afsluiting van haar wysheid met onste deel en as sy ’n lewens-mantra kon hê, wat sou dit wees, na ’n

Vir ons land, vir ons Taal, vir ons volk,vir ons God...

Dit is die leuse van nog ’n meesterstuk reeks vandie veteraan skrywer, akteur en teater guru, DeonOpperman. Ons was toegelaat om ’n dag op steldeur te bring van die nuwe KykNET dramareeks, Bloedbroers,wat volgende jaar die kykers se hartsnare gaan aanraak enemosies op alle vlakke gaan prikkel.

As ek so kyk na die stel, die akteurs en die groep mense agterdie skerms, dan praat ek nie eers van die skryf span nie- gaanBloedbroers weereens ’n wegholsukses reeks wees.Die akteurs beskik onder andere oor Altus Theart, Hykie Berg,Gustav Gerdener, Neels van Jaarsveld, Zetske van Pletzen,Rolanda Marais, Marli van der Merwe en Jenna Dunster. Diegrimeer en spesiale-effek kunstenaar laat ons in dat alhoeweldie reeks oor die tydperk van 1914 tot 1948 afspeel- speeldieselfde akteurs regdeur die reeks en word verouder deurgrimering. Ons het paar van die video’s gesien van vorigeopnames tydens die media lesing en die kwaliteit produksieis eenvoudig net puik.Met ons aankoms by Constitution Hill was die produksiespanslaggereed vir die media en die dag op stel. Die akteurs het onshoflik gegroet, maar mens moes soms twee keer kyk om hullete herken deur die spesiale-effek grimering en oudtydsekleredrag, wat so mooi inpas by die era van die reeks.

Deon Opperman asook Sean Else, wat handjie bygesit het metdie skryf van Bloedbroers, beantwoord graag die media se vraeen Deon se passie vir skryf, storievertelling en die reeks isonvermydelik. Pols het ook die voorreg gehad om, om ’n tafelmet die genie-skrywer te sit en in sy enorme kennis te delf enook meer uit te vind oor Bloedbroers.

Die konsep van Bloedbroers het ontstaan na Donkerland- ook ’nbaie bekende Deon Opperman reeks. Deon vertel dat niemand nogdie geskiedenis van 1914-1948 vertel het nie. “Hoe meer eknavorsing oor die tydperk gedoen het, hoe meer het dit mygeïnteresseer”, vertel hy.

Die epiese dramareeks volg die lewens van vier jongkêrels –armblanke mynwerkers, wat onwillekeurig by die Rebellie van1914 betrokke raak. Wanneer die Rebellie op ’n nederlaag uitloop,vind ons vier helde hulself by ’n kruispad- gaan aan soos vantevore,of veg vir ’n beter vryheid. Hulle maak die keuse om te veg, elk opsy eie manier. Daar en dan sny hul hulle hande, deel hul bloed en lê’n eed af om bloedbroers te wees, tot aan einde van dae. Maar ombloed te deel en julself bloedbroers te sweer is een ding. Om deur aldie draaie en nadraaie van die lewe steeds daardie eed te eer, is ietsheeltemal anders, veral as jou lewens keuses jou uiteindelik na dieteenoorgestelde kamp as die res van jou bloedbroers lei.

Ek het Deon gevra hoe hy dit keer na keer regkry om sulkesuksesvolle en manjifieke dramareekse te skryf. Hy vertel datsolank die gehoor die storie kan voel en onthou sal dit ’nsukses wees. “Through the heart to the head. Die kykersmoet emosioneel kan vereenselwig met die storielyn, en nienet ingelig word oor die era nie, maar ook voel as hulle daarwas, hulle moet elke gebeurtenis, situasie en storie saammeeleef” sê Deon met passie in sy oë.

Met Kruispad, Hartland, Donkerland en nou Bloedbroers hetDeon ’n breë kennis oor ’n enorme deel van ons geskiedenis.Hy vertel dat geen era vir hom uitstaan as ’n gunsteling deelvan ons geskiedenis nie, omdat elke deel van die geskiedenisoor ’n ander spesiale storie beskik. Hy vat ons deur ’n reis vangeskiedenis en sy passie word uitgebeeld soos hy opstaan enverduidelik met sy hande as ons aan ’n interessante deel van’n sekere era aanraak.Hy is baie in sy skik met die akteurs. “Hulle is briljant en dradie 550 bladsye teks wat ek geskryf het vir die reeks, na lewe.Die produk is goed” sê hy met ’n sekere tevredenheid. Dit isgeen geheim dat die man ’n genie is nie. Hy is gebore om goeie-

en ’n storie met ’n hartsgevoel aan mense te bring.Dit is baie lanklaas dat daar ’n Afrikaanse drama met sulke goeiestel- en kostuum ontwerp, uitmuntende regie en spel uit dieboonste rakke deur ons land se beste akteurs op die televisieaangebied gaan word.

Die atmosfeer op stel is rustig, die span is gefokus en die produkis puik. Ons kan nie wag om die dramareeks volgende jaar op diekassie te sien nie.

he 28th of November we attended the premiere of LeadingLady.

The red carpet was rolled out at Cedar Square Johannesburg tohost some of the biggest names in the film industry. Everyonecame together to celebrate the amazing and growing film-industry in South-Africa, and to see the award acclaimed filmfor the very first time.With Johannesburg’s city lights being the perfect backdrop forthis glamorous evening it is bound to go down in true South-African spirit.The movie might be about #BoervsBrit, but this is the goldencity in all its glory. This is proudly South-African.

The foyer was packed with celebrities from all areas of theindustry. As the MC, Martin Bester, from Jacaranda FM,announced each actor and role player in Leading Lady, while Leading Lady tells the storymaking their way down the red carpet, all waited in anticipationof an aspiring British actress,to see the movie on the silver screen. We were entertained by Jodi Rutherford, whoMatthew Mole, who also done the soundtrack of the film.

As we all made our way to the cinemas with popcorn, themovie did not disappoint. It has a great story, humour, love anddrama combined.

The film was directed by SA-born, Henk Pretorius andLlewellyn Greeff (Londen-based) and features internationalactors Gil Bellows (Ally McBeal) and Katie McGrath(Dracula) and also SA’s own Brümilda van Rensburg andBok van Blerk.

This was also Amanzimtoti's firstAfrikaans music festival.* Bok van Blerk's visit to Amanzimtoti isstill seen as one of the most successfulevents in Toti's history.*Reën Produksies also had a hands-onapproach in this time to help with thelaunch of a new local newspaper -UpperCoast Fever.* The OppiPlaas festival was hosted forthe first time in Oranjeville in 2010. Thiswas a charity event where ReenProduksies combined efforts with LianieMay to raise funds for the community. In2011 the first F1 boat race kicked off atthe Oppiplaas festival makingOppiPlaas a festival per land, air andwater and nominated as one of the bestfestivals in 2011. More then thirty artistsperformed at this event in 2010 and2011 and more than 10 000 peopleattended this marvellous festival.

Names such as RonellErasmus, Willie Joubert, Rudi Mulleren Nedine Blom were all associatedwith this production. Kruiskyk as wellas Radio Kansel covered the eventand the event was a total sell-out witha waiting list to keep in mind.* Juanita du Plessis's KZN-tour wassuch a success that there was no dryseat in the house. Potential fortentative shows and tours also exist.* Snyders, Liebenberg & Augustahosted clairvoyant, psychic andmedium, Marietta Theunissen's mediatour during her visit to SA in June2012 to launch her brand new book.During 2012 Snyders, Liebenberg &Augusta handled all Marietta and JuliaTheunissen's Media, Marketing, PRand brand imaging and was alsoinvolved in an international televisionseries 'Open Mind with MariettaTheunissen'. We reached about 7.2million people during 2012 with mediainterviews with Marietta and JuliaTheunissen. R400 000 From Jacaranda FM’s Sisters withBlisters walk

22 November 2014, Saturday, Montecasino –R400 000 was raised by Jacaranda FM and itslisteners at the Sisters with Blisters event, tohelp woman and children affected by abuse andviolence. Over 5000 men, women and childrenand pets took to the streets in Fourways for the5km fundraising walk to raise awareness of theplight of woman and children in solidarity withthe 16 Days of Activism campaign.

The cheque was handed over by Jacaranda FMGeneral Manager Kevin Fine to Women andMen Against Child Abuse (WMACA), a non-profitorganisation committed to fighting for the rightsof the child and to end the abuse of children inSouth Africa through a multifaceted andaggressive offensive against any form of abuseand gender violence.

In its 8th year, Sisters with Blisters is attendedby South Africans from all walks of life who areunited in a single cause to let the healing beginand to support those who are the victims ofabuse.

Jacaranda FM’s DJ’s Rian van Heerden, MartinBester, Barney Simon and Frankie du Toit werethere to show their support along with celebritiesRosie Motene, Jason Greer, singer Nadine andactor Brandon Auret.

Women from the South African Police ServicesProvincial Family Violence, Child Offences andSexual Offences Unit made it clear that they firmlystand by the work that they do by trading in theirworking shoes for walking shoes and showingtheir support.

Martin Bester, Jacaranda FM personality had thisto say, “Today’s turnout is amazing and I amhappy to have been part of it. For me there are atleast two reasons why we are doing this; firstly topresent the survivors and victims of abuse withour support and secondly to send a very strongmessage out to the perpetrators and theauthorities that we are serious about this issue. Itis unacceptable!”

The money raised from Sisters with Blisters willgo towards the ongoing work of WMACA whichprovide ongoing support to the Kidz Clinics whichprovide a range of comprehensive, professional,CHILD-FRIENDLY treatment services to thevictims of child abuse.
