Based on our popular Wattle design these pieces are hand screen printed onto plantation timber. The timber is then cut

into a range of jewellery making each piece unique.

This artistic series uses original water colours to create abstract beads

in tonal colour. This range uses techniques such as brush strokes,

scales patterns and line work.

Introducing a new finish where black is used to highlight the

etched detail within the stainless steel jewellery.

AustralianaInspired by our beautiful country this season sees the introduction

of more flora including Geraldton Wax, Gum Blossoms, Flannel flowers; busy Bowerbirds and their blue treasures and pair

of sleepy Echidnas.

This series includes cheeky crustacean characters,

delicate sea urchins and romantic boats sailing

away within petit bottles.

FeathersBirds feathers are a constant

inspiration to Polli; the fine detail and weightlessness

make them a perfect subject for Polli’s filigree processes.

NEW

Since 2002, Polli has been an innovator in the area of stainless steel jewellery, appropriating industrial etching techniques to create precious pieces in Australia. The stainless steel is 75% recycled and enables the jewellery to be light and comfortable to wear while still achieving fine filigree detail. The sterling silver hooks & chains are nickel and lead free.

Polli also introduces two new wooden collections – the water colour series and the hand screen printed wattle range. Made locally from sustainable plantation hoop pine ply, these classic Polli designs come to life with colourful prints and paints. Water colour paints have been used to add colour to the sea urchins and Australian flora.

The bold hexagonal brooches are made from 3 individual painted beads bringing new colour combinations. Each wooden piece is kept safe in a special reusable organic cotton pouch.

Polli is a design-based business, specialising in jewellery and home accessories. Established by Tess Lloyd and Maja Rose – who met in 1999 while studying Industrial Design at the University of Technology, Sydney – Polli was born of their shared interests in design, craft culture and fashion.

Today, Polli is a thriving business with distribution through 200 retailers across Australasia, North America and Europe.

Polli designs are strongly influenced by the designers’ respective backgrounds and cultural experiences gleaned through study and travel.

Reflecting Japanese, Middle Eastern, Indian and European influences, the designs play with form, pattern, light and colour. Using photographs and sketches, the designers collaborate to refine each design before translating it into its final material.

Polli provides a supportive work place for young families. With toy boxes and high chairs, the studio has been home to many ‘Polli babies’ over the past few years.

Polli products are designed to be unique and are proudly Australian made.

Polli is recognised as a Low CO2 company which is socially responsible, reducing our environmental footprint wherever possible.

Our Low CO2 rating is awarded by the Carbon Reduction Institute. We have achieved this rating by offsetting the carbon emissions produced by our energy consumption, flights, car travel and team commuting.

Our general practice includes: extensive studio based recycling; using and specifying organic or recycled products where possible; using natural light or energy efficient globes; using natural airflow and cooling rather than air-conditioning; and walking or cycling locally where possible. We manufacture our products locally which helps local industry and reduces carbon emissions in freight. It allows us to collect any off-cuts from the production processes, which we reuse where possible or donate to local schools and artists. This initiative means that our in-house production creates minimal landfill.

We also have a collection policy on reusable Polli packaging and encourage customers to retain packaging for return or reuse.

The metal we use in our jewellery and homewares is recycled stainless steel. Our new wooden collection uses sustainable plantation hoop pine ply and is packaged in organic cotton pouches.

Our products are designed to last both in their durability of material and process and also in their independent design aesthetic.

Good design should never be disposed of.

Inspired by Holi, the Indian colour festival, the Polli team set to work to recreate the colourful clouds in a photography studio in Sydney’s Inner West. Powdered water colour paints and trampoline style propulsions were used to create the clouds in this catalogue.

We are very grateful for our wonderful team - who don’t mind getting their hands, heads, or bodies dirty; Beattie - the white jumpsuit wearing fashion designer; Oliver Ford - the most open minded photographer we know and the boys at Igloo who let us make a lot of mess.
