About the Guide & Women’s Foreign Policy Group

The Women’s Foreign Policy Group publishes the Guide to Women Leaders in International Affairs to highlight women leaders shaping foreign policy around the world. The Guide provides an index of prominent women from across the international community, including heads of state and government, government ministers, leaders of international organizations and corporations, American officials and diplomats, and women representatives to the US and the UN. This free publication is available online and is distributed to our members and partners. WFPG is a non-partisan membership organization that promotes and supports women’s leadership by highlighting and providing greater visibility for women leaders in foreign policy, amplifying their voices, and raising up role models for the next generation. The WFPG is committed to bringing together women of diverse backgrounds and expanding the foreign policy dialogue across political divides and generations. To learn more about WFPG, visit wfpg.org.

She previously served as the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government.

Feminist Foreign Policy In 2018, Canada became the second country to publicly adopt a feminist foreign policy. Canada followed the example of Sweden, which has promoted a feminist foreign policy since 2014. The goal of the initiative is to promote the empowerment of women in foreign affairs sectors, from development to trade. Currently there are two female representatives of feminist foreign policy in Washington: Ambassador Karin Olofsdotter of Sweden (left) and Ambassador Jennifer Loten, Permanent Representative of Canada to the OAS (right).
