Polesworth Matters Polesworth Matters Polesworth Matters Issue 193 — 17th November 2017 Dear All We have an extremely busy few weeks coming up in the lead up to the Christmas holiday. Next month Year 11 have their pre-public examinations which will give us and them a clear idea as to where they need to be focusing their attention. I would urge all Year 11 students to ensure that they are up to date with all their work and have a revision schedule that allows them to retain a work/life balance. In addition, we have held careers interviews with Year 11 students. These have proven to be very successful and external providers have commented on how motivated, aspirational and organised our students are. Well done to you all! On Friday 8th December we are holding our annual Christmas Fayre. There will be thirty two stalls to get you into the Christmas spirit! Come and join us between 5 pm and 7 pm in the main hall. We are very much looking forward to seeing you all there! Dear All

We have an extremely busy few weeks coming up in the lead up to the Christmas holiday.

If you haven’t yet considered it, there has never been a more exciting time to get into

teaching. As a designated National Teaching School, we work with the University of

Warwick and have a growing network of primary and secondary schools across North

Warwickshire and Tamworth in which you could be doing your training.

Whether you are considering changing career or you have a son/daughter at university

thinking about their future career choices, continuing with a postgraduate qualification

needn’t cost the earth. There are tax free Bursaries available that will help to cover your

tuition fees and training locally means that you can also train close to home. Below is an

overview of the financial incentives for postgraduate non-salaried teacher training

courses in 2016/17 by subject:

Scholarship: Eligible ITT Subjects

Bursaries

*£5k Y3 and Y5 if employed in mainstream state school, and uplift available if in certain areas of UK

And if your degree discipline isn’t quite in line with the subjects listed above, it is possible

to do a Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) course, and there’s a further tax-free

Bursary available to do that as well, of up to £5,600.

The application window on UCAS is now open to start your training in September 2018.

If you would like further information come and chat to us outside the Hall during Parents’

Consultation Evening on Tuesday 21 November.
