POLAR WEBSYNC HELP

Polar WebSync™ - Flowlink Driver Software

With Polar WebSync™ - FlowLink Driver software you can transfer data between your Polar activity or training computer and polarpersonaltrainer.com web service. Use Polar WebSync with the Polar FA20 activity computer and Polar FT7, FT40, FT60, FT80 and RS300X training computers.

Download Polar WebSync from polarpersonaltrainer.com APPLICATIONS / DOWNLOADS free of charge.

Click -> Windows 2000/XP/Vista and the installation wizard guides you through the installation.

For data transfer you also need the Polar FlowLink™ accessory. Polar FlowLink accessory is sold as a part of the FT80 set or it can be bought separately as an accessory for the Polar FA20 activity computer and Polar FT7, FT40, FT60 and RS300X training computers.

Note that the FlowLink must not be placed on a metallic base when transferring data.

Data Transfer with Polar WebSync™

1. Check that WebSync icon is shown on your computer taskbar. If the icon is not shown, start the WebSync from your computer desktop icon.

2. Plug in your FlowLink in the USB port of the computer. The DATA symbol turns to yellow when FlowLink is connected to your PC.

3. Set your activity/training computer face down onto FlowLink as shown in the picture. The ALIGN symbol in FlowLink turns green, when the training computer is correctly aligned. The yellow DATA symbol starts flashing when data transfer is in process. NOTE: It is important that you do not move the training computer during the data transfer. Even a slight movement will disrupt the data transfer.

4. WebSync Setup opens. If the setup does not open, right-click the WebSync logo on the taskbar at the bottom right corner of your display and select Synchronize. Remove the training computer from the FlowLink and wait until the ALIGN symbol light turns off. Then replace the training computer face-down onto the FlowLink.

5. Click Next.

6. PRODUCT The WebSync informs when it has identified your training computer. Model > Your Polar training computer model i.e. FT80. Version > The version of your Polar training computer.

7. Click Next.

8. ACCOUNT To transfer data you need to be registered at polarpersonaltrainer.com. If you have not registered yet, you can do it by clicking the >>Register here link. If you want WebSync to automatically identify your training computer each time you set it on the FlowLink, tick the box Always transfer data from this Polar {0} to my polarpersonaltrainer.com account. NOTE: If your PC is used for transferring data to different polarpersonaltrainer.com accounts from more than one Polar training computer of the same model (for example, FT80), untick the box. If the box is ticked, WebSync identifies the products as the same and does not ask to which polarpersonaltrainer.com account data will be transferred. If you want polarpersonaltrainer.com to automatically open after synchronization, tick the box Automatically open polarpersonaltrainer.com after synchronization.

For Polar FT7 training computer, basic settings can be set by using WebSync software. Tick the box Automatically synchronize basic settings between the training computer and polarpersonaltrainer.com. Language, time format and your user information (weight, height, date of birth and sex) are transferred from your polarpersonaltrainer.com user account. Time and date are set according to your PC settings. If some user information is missing in polarpersonaltrainer.com, default values are used in FT7 training computer. WebSync informs which values are missing. If the value in polarpersonaltrainer.com is out of your training computer's range, the nearest possible value will be set to the training computer. If the language you are using in polarpersonaltrainer.com is not available in FT7 training computer, English will be set as your training computer language.

9. Click Next.

10. SYNCHRONIZATION The automatic synchronization (AutoSync) has been set as a default (the box has been ticked), but it can be deactivated for manual synchronization by unticking the box. If you select manual synchronization, the WebSync asks you to define each time which data you want to transfer. You can edit synchronization settings by clicking Edit Synchronization Settings link. See Polar WebSync Synchronization Settings for further information.

11. Click Next. Automatic synchronization starts if you have activated AutoSync. If you have selected manual synchronization, WebSync guides you through the steps described in chapter Polar WebSync Synchronization Settings. Click Continue to proceed after each step.

12. COMPLETE When all the data has been transferred, COMPLETE turns to red.

13. Click Finish.

When transferring the data next time, depending on your Synchronization Settings, WebSync transfers all the data automatically or you can go through all the steps manually.

Polar WebSync™ Synchronization Settings

1. Right-click the WebSync icon on the taskbar at the bottom right corner of your screen.

2. Click Synchronization Settings.

3. Welcome window opens. Place your training computer on the FlowLink.

4. Polar WebSync Settings window opens. Go through the tabs and edit settings.

5. Select Apply to confirm you choice. If you select OK, the settings window closes.

• PRODUCT Your Polar product information is displayed. If you want WebSync to automatically identifiy your Polar product, tick the box In the future identify my Polar Product and skip this view.

• ACCOUNT Your account information is displayed. If you want WebSync to automatically identify your Polar product, tick the box Always transfer data from this Polar Product to my polarpersonaltrainer.com account. If you want polarpersonaltrainer.com to automatically open after synchronization, tick the box Automatically open polarpersonaltrainer.com after synchronization. NOTE: If your PC is used for transferring data to different polarpersonaltrainer.com accounts from more than one Polar training computer of the same model (for example, FT80), untick the box Always transfer data from this Polar Product to my polarpersonaltrainer.com account. If the box is ticked, WebSync identifies the products as the same and does not ask to which polarpersonaltrainer.com account data will be transferred.

• USER DATA You can select your user data to be automatically transferred between polarpersonaltrainer.com and your Polar product by ticking the box. You can also select which data you want to be transfer. If AutoSync box is not ticked, WebSync asks every time which of the listed user data you want to transfer.

• TEST RESULTS (FT40, FT60, FT80, RS300X) You can select your test results to be automatically transferred to polarpersonaltrainer.com. If AutoSync box is not ticked, WebSync asks every time which of the listed test results you want to transfer.

• TRAINING RESULTS You can select your training results to be automatically transferred to

polarpersonaltrainer.com. If AutoSync box is not ticked, WebSync asks every time which of the listed training results you want to transfer.

• TRAINING TARGETS (FT80) You can select your training targets to be automatically transferred from polarpersonaltrainer.com to your FT80: The next three strength training targets are transferred automatically from polarpersonaltrainer.com diary to your Polar FT80. If there are no strength training targets in your diary, no data will be transferred. If AutoSync box is not ticked, WebSync asks every time which of the listed training targets you want to transfer. Select maximum of three strength training targets from polarpersonaltrainer.com favorites or diary to be transferred your Polar FT80.

• TRAINING PROGRAM (FT60, FT80) You can select your training program status to be automatically updated to polarpersonaltrainer.com. The weekly program data is automatically synchronized between your Polar product and polarpersonaltrainer.com. If the AutoSync box is not ticked, WebSync asks every time which program data you want to transfer.

• DAILY ACTIVITY (FA20) You can select your daily activity results to be automatically transferred to polarpersonaltrainer.com. If AutoSync box is not ticked, WebSync asks every time which of the listed results you want to transfer.

Logo Transfer with Polar WebSync™

With Polar WebSync logo transfer you can transfer watch face logos between your FA20 activity computer, FT7, FT40, FT60, FT80 and RS300X training computers and PC.

The logo should be in gif, jpg or png format and it should not be coloured. Check the maximum size of the logo from the table below.

To transfer logos:

1. Right-click the WebSync icon on the taskbar at the bottom right corner of your screen and select Transfer logo.

2. Place your training computer face-down onto the FlowLink.

3. Select whether you want to transfer logo from you training computer to your PC or from your PC to your training computer. Click Next.

4. To transfer logo from PC to your training computer: Browse the logo from your computer and click Next. WebSync informs if the logo format is not acceptable.

To transfer logo from your training computer to PC: Select path and enter file name and click Next.

5. WebSync informs when the transfer has been completed. Click Finish to exit.
